I have decided to offer my documented '64 GTO Tripower, 3.90, 4-speed, pov cap car for sale. I purchased the car in 2001. We did a complete rotisserie nut and bolt frame off restoration that was completed in the Spring of 2003. Changes from stock is a color change from Nocturne Blue to Cameo Ivory and upgraded motor to a RA 3 block, heads and a '66 Tripower set up. The transmission is a 1965 M21. This car had been a drag car most of it's life and the original motor and transmission were long gone when I purchased it. Looks stock. I would rate the car's condition in all honesty a strong 2 to a low 1. Storage since completion has been in my personal climate controlled garage with air conditioning and heat. This is the first time I have offered this car for sale. I am either going to sell it or start driving it. I am happy to provide any additional pictures or information to any parties that have a sincere interest in the car. The vehicle was concourse judged at the GTOAA and POCI conventions in 2003 where it took Gold in the modified class at both events. I chose to show in modified instead of stock even though it looks stock other than a few changes Pontiac did with the newer motors because the loss of points for non original block, heads, intake, carbs, and transmission would have put me into Silver right away. Considering that I have 250 miles (most occuring over a 4 year period at the Woodward Dream Cruise) on the car since the restoration was completed and exhaust manifolds and such are not quite as crisp as it was when done and before driving but it was well received. Included with the sale of the car will be a book of photographs that were taken during the restoration as well as tens of thousands of dollars or restoration receipts. Awards and score sheets will also be included. I am located less than 100 miles south of St. Charles, IL where the POCI National convention is being held this week.
