Here is something you do not see every day. A super European classic, a vintage 1959 VOLVO PV 544 coupe. This old, unrestored diamond in the rough runs and drives well. Completely stock, bulletproof B16 engine, with standard tall 4-speed manual transmission. The engine starts right up, does not overheat or make any odd noises. Idles nicely, with good compression. Still in its original 6-Volt electrical systyem. It has a brand-new battery, rebuilt alternator and water pump. Stock dual SU carburetors with vintage round air cleaner assemblies. The car is an old PV 544 model that has lived in Berkeley for the last 39 years. It is a restoration project, as pictured, yet all stock except for the replaced left rear fender, and a clean door that had no dents in it, as you can obviously see. It was purchased by a young kid from the original owner, who had not driven it since 1996, and it had sat in their driveway. He couldn't get it started, so he gave up, and it had sat in his garage until I rescued it, and got it running properly. Not a whole lot to say, other than it is a solid start for a restoration, and priced reasonably and very fairly, specially due to the fact that you simply cannot find these in any condition. Only rust issues are on the trunk lid and the right inner trunk well from trapped water. The chassis and floorboards are clean. All the pillars a roofline are cherry as pictured. Rocker panels, door sills, doors and fenders are clean. Window surround areas are cherry as you can see from the photos. The car is complete, solid ( except for a few bruises as pictured), with a complete interior sans headliner, and it runs well. Front rubber mats were brittle and dried up, so I tossed them away as they were not salvageable. The car is sold with a CLEAR California duplicate title app ( NOT SALVAGE or anything of the kind). If a regular CA title is desired or needed in your state, that will be $279 that you can submit to the CA DMV online or via mail, or I can procure it if desired. The car is also being listed in other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, if an outside offer or a BUY-IT-NOW presents itself prior to the end of the listing, so do not wait on this opportunity to find a vintage PV544 for cheap~!. Personal, business or C.C/ Dividend account checks may be utilized, but will need to clear funds ( to my banking institution) prior to any transportation arrangments being made.
