Vehicle Detail
1986 HONDA CRX CONVERTIBLE Most antiques become antiques after 60 years. Cars are considered an antique or classic after 20 years. This Honda CRX is now 26 years, a Honda classic and a very rare Honda CRX because it is a convertible. This means it is also an investment since it will continue to become even more rare and unique as more years go by. It is one of the few that Honda Corporation contracted with Strahman to do professional conversions on about 200 of their CRX models. Strahman was Honda’s choice for they knew it is California’s most reputable company known for convertible conversions. The blue top is in excellent shape and the back window is as clear as new. As for the rest of this CRX, we have always garaged it. It has been very much loved and cared for like a baby for it was my birthday gift from my husband. It is a real eye catcher attracting attention wherever we drive. It is truly a conversation piece because people always express how "sweet" it is and ask where they can buy one. With 125,075 original miles, this CRX is quiet and runs great. It is light weight, has plenty of power and handles like a sports car, which it is. It burns no oil, and gets SUPER gas mileage and the tires have plenty of tread. The blue original interior is also in great shape, including the dash. So too are the original blue cloth seats in very good condition. It has a Sony CD player, as well. We are in Salem, Oregon and are able to meet the buyer at the Portland airport. We cannot and will not take any type of trade. We ask for $500 deposit, through Paypal, within 48 hours of the auction closing and the full payment within seven days of the auction closing. We will accept a via bank wire transfer. The only way we will accept a payment in the form of a check is if we can cash it to allow the 10 or 15 days bank required to clear, prior to releasing the vehicle. The other option is to complete the transaction, for cash, at any major bank. Only then will we release the car and title, which is free and clear. We love the CRX Honda model and nowadays they are quite rare, especially in good shape. This one is our fifth CRX. We bought two new, but this one is our first convertible CRX. Nevertheless, we are starting a business in our garage and will no longer be able to store it there All and all, this CRX is economical, low maintenance, an investment, and most of all "sweet" and fun to drive. We miss it already! On Jul-08-12 at 17:58:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Resulting from communications with some proud and generous Straman CRX owners, I learned that this car was the 70th Straman CRX built. There were about 130 built from '84 until around 1989.
