First Impression: Upon first glancing at this Quest S, it looks really good. The Coral Sand Metallic Exterior, what I would call Gold, and body contouring give it a much sportier appeal than you would expect from a minivan. This design is very modern and gives the look of what I consider more of a cross over than a minivan. On close inspection, it appears that this Nissan has been cared for. Most minivans have the telltale signs that kids had been riding in there…but not this one! The seating surfaces and carpeting are in far better condition than I would ever expect. It was very clean when we got it and only required a usual vacuum and wash clean up. No deep cleaning and no reconditioning was required. Also, there is no presence of smoke so I do not believe this van has been smoked in. There is no small pet hair so no reason to believe pets have been in this van. Finally, the seats do not have marks on them from cars seats. Overall, this van is very nice and obviously well maintained. Exterior: Overall the Exterior is in Great Condition. The Metallic Coral has a nice appeal and look to it with minor touches of Chrome, Metal and Woodgrain. This Quest S looks like it sits a little lower to the ground, again, giving a sporty look. The roof line sweeps down toward the front and is a very distinctive feature. The profile of this Quest looks awesome. The contour design makes this minivan look not so ‘mini-vanish.’ Words associate with the Nissan Quest that have never been linked to a minivan before; Sexy, Sporty, Sassy, Awesome, Flirtatious, Racy, Risqué, and I could go on. The Gold exterior body color looks beautiful and is practical. The power side view mirrors and bumpers are all painted to match the overall body color, an upgrade. The windows on the back are tinted to help keep the van cool in the hot summer months. From the rear this Quest looks great and shows off more amenities. The bumper is gold just like the rest of the body. There are also back up sensors here. This is so useful for anyone. Not only are these helpful when there are kids around but also for general maneuvering. Backing into parking spaces or backing out of spaces in a crowded lot. There is also a slip resistant coating to help with loading and unloading. The best thing back here is the automatic power lift gate. There is no muscle needed. Either use the key fob or just press the open latch and the gate then lifts up on its own. It lowers the same way…super easy and hands free. There is a button in the back cargo area that you can use to close this hatch also. The front of this Quest looks cool. There is a built in license plate holder. The grill is egg crate style with the iconic Nissan emblem in the middle. There are also lots of nice looking contours here on the hood as well. The bumper is gold again to match the body and give a consistent look. With this Quest you get factory wheels with minimal curb chew and tires with a ton of tread left on them. I would estimate that the tires have at 50-70% thread left. This Nissan quest comes with fully power side sliding door. Nissan Quests have side sliding doors that are several (4-6 inches on average) bigger than comparable vehicles. These bigger doors make entry/exit and loading/unloading cargo much easier. This mini van has a power release passenger side doors. You can open remotely from the drivers seat, from the key fob or you can use the handle. Again this is so convenient especially when you have your hands full. There is also a roof rack to help carry any extra cargo. Overall, this Quest looks awesome. I have driven it daily since we got it and love it. When we got it, the front bumper had a crack in it and an area that looked faded. So, we had it professional repaired and painted so it looks great now. I do notice a little piece of black trim is missing on the lower part of the bumper where fog lights would be if this van had them. You may find a little door ding or small imperfection (like the tiny paint chip on the rear hatch that is about ½ the size of a penny) and some usual paint chips on the hood, but overall this van looks great! With a Virginia State Safety inspection valid thru 06/2013 this Nissan is ready to go. Interior: The inside of this Quest is FULL of amenities. There are so many to talk about and probably some that I have missed. Overall, the interior condition is excellent. The inside of this minivan is in much better condition than I would expect. The inside is a beautiful Tan. There are Tanher Seats, Interior Panels, and Accents of Silver/Metal look and Wood Grain. The carpet is a nice neutral, matching tan color with all the matching floor mats (this is important to have all the floor mats). I do not suspect that children or pets have ever kids in this van because it is so clean. There are front row captain seats, second row captain seats, and a third row bench. The upholstery looks great as a whole. There are no rips, tears, or burn marks. The front seats are super comfortable. All 4 captain seats both have adjustable armrests and adjustable headrests and adjustable shoulder belts. The third row will fold and tumble into the floor, referred to as a magic seat. The driver door has the power lock buttons and power window controls. There is also a gas release here. The front doors have a large cubby for storage here. Just to the left of the steering wheel you will see the power mirror controls, the window child lock switch, the backup sensor switch and the TCS switch. There are front intermittent wind shield wipers, a rear wiper on the hatch, rear defrost, and even rear wisher fluid. The steering wheel has options at your finger tips. Located here you will find Cruise controls and audio controls. The wheel is in great condition. This is no signs of wear on the wheel of this Quest. You will also find some chrome trim here too. The center console is raised and is part of what gives the interior of this mini van so much appeal. The gages are here and easy to read. The odometer is digital. Next to the gage panel you will find a screen to tell you about everything going on in the vehicle. Such as audio inputs, outside temperature, RDS is here as well. There is a very attractive radio face, a multi disc CD loader, the dvd player, 2 AC Power sources and a storage cubbie. The audio system in this Nissan is Awesome!! Not only is it equipped with a Factory Multi Disc CD Changer and AM FM Tuner, but there is also a DVD system. The speakers sound great in here. I have noticed this Van has speed sensitive volume that will automatically increase or decrease based upon driving speed. RDS - Radio Data System - is awesome, it displays information such as the channel, artist and song name of what you are listening to. I love RDS and find myself frustrated if I have to drive a car without it. You will find even more stuff in between the two front seats. There is a very cool flip up style table that has storage and cupholders. This is great because my purse sits right under this so it is out of the way but still easy to reach and out of sight if I leave it in the car. There is a lighted lockable glove box in front of the passenger side seat. The owner’s manual, dvd remote and 2 sets of wireless headphones are all included. Now if you look overhead you will see more stuff. There is the button to open/close the rear passenger side sliding door. There are also rear ac controls. The second row of seats are configured as 2 bucket style seats. These seats are both tan and again look really good. Each seat folds completely down flat and can flip forward as well. This is awesome for increasing cargo space and making getting into the back easier. There are foldable arm rests for both seats and built in cup holders back here as well. These seats also recline. Both sides feature sliding doors. Each side door has a huge cubby and cup holder built in. Above on this side you have the climate controls for the rear. Overhead you will also find many climate control vents. There are overhead entry handles, audio controls, clothes hook, entry/reading lights and more! DVD Entertainment System: This Nissan Quest S comes complete with a factory DVD Entertainment System. There is a drop down screen mounted on the ceiling on the full over head console. There are 2 sets of wireless headphones for this system and overhead audio controls and jack. The DVD player is very conveniently mounted on the front dash, making it easy for any driver or passenger to access and control it, even while en route. This is easy to access and easy to load. It is also nice that the player is within easy reach of the driver, so changing the DVD is super easy. The 3rd row seats 3 more adults. The seating surfaces again look really good back here. There are 3 adjustable headrests and with shoulder seatbelts as well. This seat will recline. The other nice thing about this 3rd row is that it can fold completely down into the cargo space. This creates a flat cargo area if you do not need the extra seating. There are also grocery bag hangers on the back of this third row. So you get another layer of grocery stacking. You can stack large heavy items on the bottom, such as cases of sodas, then bag on top of those items, then hang more bags on the back of the seat. The same style hooks are on the back of the front seats. There are 4 cupholders for the 3rd row, offering 10 total throughout the van. The interior panels on each side of the 3rd seat are padded with super soft fabric for increased riding comfort. There is a storage area with lid on one side, too. In the very back cargo space there is a ton of room. You will also find a push button to allow the hatch’s automatic feature to work so you don’t even need to reach up to close. Just push a button. Overall the interior condition is very nice. I would consider this to be about as clean as anyone can hope a minivan to be. Every feature I have tested works and I cannot really tell you anything that is wrong with the inside of this van. Now, it is used and has 132k miles so there is wear but nothing I consider damage. If you have realistic expectations, you will love this van as much as I have. Under the Hood: We had this Quest in for a full inspection when we had the state inspection done. We had new front brakes and rotors installed. The engine sounds and operates as it should, the transmission shifts as it should, the brakes are now all new, and the alignment is straight and true. The oil change sticker is still good for two thousand miles. Overall, this Quest is in excellent mechanical condition with nothing to report. Driving Impression: Driving this Quest does not feel like driving the typical mini van. The look is not the only sporty thing about this van, the driving and handling is as well. This Quest has a 3.5 Liter dual over head cam V6 engine. This engine puts out a muscular 235 Horsepower. This is the same power plant as the 350Z sports car and in several Infiniti vehicles. This engine feels strong and sporty. This Nissan Drives Great! I have personally driven it extensively and have found everything to function and perform just as it should. The engine is strong yet still quiet, the transmission shifts smoothly, the air conditioning is ice cold (noting it is over 90 degrees here so I am confident the ac system is good to go), and all options work. The cruise control works, the controls on the steering wheel works, the cd player works (even playing home burned cds), the power remote side sliding door and rear hatch all work. In a nutshell, I have not found anything that does not work. Throttle response is immediate and is smoothly competent in town or on the highway. There is plenty of power and peep. This being the upgraded S model, it comes with a five speed transmission with overdrive. The engine power, smooth handling and effective brake system puts this Quest above the competition. Easy and fun to drive yet super practical for the family on the go!! Gas Mileage: The Nissan Quest runs on regular grade gas, and gets outstanding gas mileage. With ratings of 19-25 miles per gallon, it gets better ratings than the comparable Honda Odyssey.
