Vehicle Detail

1976 Triumph TR6, Just acquired from estate of the original woman owner. Car has been in storage over 20 years and has an amazing 1,034 original miles! This is a one of a kind true survivor still wearing 100% of its original mimosa yellow paint. The original reflector top is like new except for some oxidation of plastic windows. The chestnut interior is 100% original and absolutely like new. The car is still wearing its original Michelin x redline tires that look brand new, no dry rot, just amazing. This time capsule TR6 is 99 % original with the exception of an added Prestone flush valve added into the heater hose (original owner did this when car was new) and she had it rustproofed when new (ziebart). everything else is original period. The original full cockpit tonneau cover is just like n.o.s. new. The smaller chestnut colored top boot cover is still in the original plastic bag! There are remnants of a sticker on the lower right windshield that I believe was the original temporary Michigan registration tag from 1976. The interior of this car is just like it was in 1976. Still has little stickers on seat belt retractors and seat belt receivers. Under the headrest are remnants of the original plastic seat covers the dealer is supposed to remove! On the face of the speedometer is a red dot sticker I think is an inspection or calibration sticker from smiths gauges that was never removed (I've never seen another TR6 with this). Carpeting is as new everywhere and is factory original. Seats are like brand new, no squashed foam or wear. door panels look new. All weather stripping is original and still soft. The wood dash shows zero wear. Both seat belt ports are still like new. The engine compartment is untouched (except for flush valve) Still has original hoses, belts, spark plugs, plug wires and everything else. The car has just come out of 20 years of storage, and needs to be gone over mechanically. The motor turns over freely by hand (not froze up) I have not tried to start it. I am not a mechanic and feel a more qualified person would be better suited to give the car the proper mechanical attention it deserves. The bumpers are perfectly straight but have pitting in the chrome and will need replating to be perfect. With mechanical maintanance and bumper plating, I think this might be the best original, unrestored and unmolested TR6 in the country, maybe the world. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an incredible 1034 original mile, true blue chip investment. I don't know if there is another one out there with this low of mileage. Cars like these don't come around often. Please feel free to contact me by email or phone with any questions. I can be reached at 734 837-2638. Thanks, Jerry.
