Classic era Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, black with gray cloth interior, being sold as-is. You would not know from looking at this vehicle that it is nearly 25 years old. Like any vehicle of her years, there are some dings, chips, etc, (small crack in plastic of the front bumper, driver side, barely visible in photos) but overall the body is in fantastic shape. Interior, overall, is in fair condition (but again, very good shape for having been installed during Ronald Reagan's presidency). Starts right up the first time every time. Runs great, and has not lost any of the power that Ford instilled in her. I purchased this vehicle in 1999 from a mechanic who told me he'd installed the RAM-Air kit, bigger gears, and a transmission shift kit. Other than that, I believe everything else is original. Over the 14 seasons I've owned her, I have done very little other than routine maintenance. The only mechanical problem I ever had with this vehicle was in the summer of 2006 when the transmission began to slip. I brought her to a transmission specialist, expecting the worst, and received a call a few hours later that the problem was caused by a loose piece of linkage. I had the car back that afternoon and for under $100 she was back to running perfectly. Besides that incident, I have not had a single mechanical problem with this car. To my knowledge, this vehicle has never been in an accident. The car is garaged and kept under a breathable cover year round. I generally only insure the vehicle May-September, and she sits covered in storage the rest of the year. When I do drive her, which is not often (I’ve put 20K miles on the vehicle since 1999) it is only in optimum weather. During my tenure, this car has never seen snow, and has only been out in the rain a few times. Vehicle is adult owned and driven, never raced, and usually pampered. The power convertible top (which is not original—it was replaced shortly before I bought the vehicle) works fine, although part of the fabric along the rear window could use some work (visible in pictures). It’s been that way for years, but I generally only put the top up to wash the car or put her away for the season, so it was never worth addressing. It has not leaked the few times I’ve gotten caught in the rain, but you don’t want to send high-pressure water (hose, car wash, etc.) its way. All four power windows work fine, as do the lights, power mirrors, cruise control, trunk release, and all gauges. I installed a Boss CD/MP3 detachable face stereo with Aux inputs (for iPod, etc.) but kept the stock stereo, which will also be included. The only things that I know of that do NOT work on this vehicle are the power door locks (which have never worked while I’ve owned her) and power fuel door opener (which works intermittently, but the manual release in the trunk works fine). Also, the turn signals do not automatically click off when you’ve completed a turn (which is mildly annoying but, I’m told, an easy fix). A/C needs to be recharged--compressors powers up when it's turned on, and blower motor works fine. This is a very fun car to own and to drive. The sound of the Mustang 5.0 H.O. V-8 engine is distinctly invigorating—throaty, but not obnoxious. Even with the renowned 5.0 power, she still tops off close to 20MPG on the highway. With just basic maintenance and TLC, this pony still has a lot of life left in her. Good luck!
