Vehicle Detail
Tell Dad "You Love Him in Italian" for Father Day! Get him this beautiful Alfa with custom Black on Black paint just in time for Fathers Day! This Alfa has been in my possession for about a year and half, and the PO (Previous Owner) had her for almost 10 years. She starts, drives, and sounds great! A real head turner as it moves down the road, or sits at a light. Great conversation starter at the gas station or at work, and just a ball to drive. This isn't a garage queen, but a regular driver. The PO gave me receipts for over $5500 in work during his ownership, plus the custom paint job. As a retired mechanic, I sorted out a couple of reliability issues when I got it, and now it runs like a champ. Cars are my hobby, my work here is done, so now she needs to be enjoyed by someone else. So lets talk bad news first: She is an '88 and a Alfa and has some of the typical Alfa woes, but nothing to keep you from enjoying her:2 cracks in the dash pad - very common, but not hideous (see pics). Both seats have minor broken threads in the seam "peaks" - again, very common, but not bad (see pics).Gas guage doesn't work, and you can't buy the tank sender anymore. I use the trip odometer, and refill at 200-225 miles to be safe, although you can stretch it further (depending on how much you hot-rod!)Tach works sometimes - I haven't found that issue yet, but I assume an intermittent ground. The PO put in the center gauges and radio, but hooked none of them up and didn't pass on the parts to do so. I don't care, I put the top down and listen to the purr of the engine! No visible rust, but one quarter size area bubbling up on passenger rear quarter (see pic - look close, it is hard to see!)She is driven often, so there are some stone chips in the front, but agian, nothing bad (see pics).P.S. I washed it, then took it and the dog to the park to take the pics - down a gravel road. Ignore the gray dust! The good news:Over $5500 in receipts from the PO, plus the custom paint job which is still in good shape!I have sorted out all the typical reliability issues and then some (cars are my hobby now). Added a secondary starter relay for consistent starting (common issue).Replaced some parts of and calibrated the fuel injection system.Replaced brake master and front brakesReplaced Clutch master and slave cylindersDrained and refilled fluids with Red Line synthetics in the transmission, and diff. Mobil 1 Syn in the crank.New exhaust systemNew water pump and radiator flushNew batteryThe top is in good shape and the rear window is nice and clear (see pics). Again, it is an 88 and an Alfa so don't expect perfection, but this is one of the nicer examples you will find and Dad will LOVE it! I have it listed locally, so I reserve the right to cancel the auction. I live in Northern Kentucky off of route 16 (Taylor Mill area). Good luck bidding!
