Vehicle Detail
(Reluctantly) offered for sale - Gorgeous 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible in original factory paint color Astro Blue! Several W30 options have been added: -W-25 factory ram air hood -red inner fender wells -factory W30 replacement K-heads -factory-correct W30 paint stripes -original emblems Also includes many other desirable options: -AM/FM stereo radio with 8-track player -cruise control -3:23 posi rear end -power windows -power front disc brakes -power steering -power driver's side bucket seat -factory rally pack gauges -factory hood lock -rally 1 factory rims -rare night watch system -Hurst dual-gate sports console -sport steering wheel -sport view mirrors -full courtesy lamp setup (trunk, interior, etc.) This 442 includes most of its factory original components with some desirable options added. The original 455 c.i. V8 engine has been replaced with a rebuilt engine that has less than 10,000 miles on it. This motor now sports K-heads and a higher-performance cam while retaining the original open-face alternator. The TH400 auto transmission was recently rebuilt (less than 1,000 miles ago). As the photos show, the car has been upgraded with factory-correct W30 paint stripes. The hood pins are the locking type for extra security but could be switched back to factory-style easily if desired. The cooling system is a heavy-duty 3-core radiator with fan shroud. Everything on this car is in good working order and it runs very well. One thing to mention is that the cruise control is not in current operation since it isn't compatible with the brand-new Rochester carbeurator's linkage. To have functioning cruise control, you would just need to switch out the carb to an original Rochester. The body has almost no rust. In fact, the original decals on the underside of the trunk lid are still intact. The frame and chassis are original (not restored) but show very little surface rust - the frame is solid. The paint is in very good condition but has some small blemishes (see photo). The upholstery and the after-market carpet in nice shape. The top is in decent condition with the exception of a small tear (about 3.5in) on the driver's side and some typical dirt accumulation. The door interior seam welds were treated with Gravelguard unneccessarily (by previous owner) as a precaution against rust. This vehicle was restored in 1983 and has been very well looked after. It is turn-key - ready for you to enjoy! *Bonus: includes vintage documentation: new vehicle warrantee booklet with protect-o-plate, original owner's manual and plastic glove-box wallet, and GM of Canada documentation.
