This is a good example of a Ponton Mercedes. It has a bench seat, originally MB Tex, but recovered with a harringbone grey cloth, door panels were once cut out for speakers and round holes remain. The paint is a very average respray with some cracking, notably on rear trunk. The car came from Colorado and has very little rust underneath, and no rust holes. The appearance is its worst feature, it looks used, but mechanically it runs very well and you could drive it long distances. It has a new gas tank and an electric fuel pump installed. I am missing a some chrome trim on the side of the right rear fender, otherwise the car is fully intact. There is no radio installed and the clock does not work. Everything else works, lights, blinkers, wipers, fan etc. It has the bench type front seat but is an S model with two solex carbs. Trunk is solid and has the jack. The interior floor mats have been recut rubber mats. I have owned the car long enough that I can no longer remember when I bought it, but I would say it was ten to fifteen years ago. I would drive to deliver it within 100 miles of Arlington, VT. I have no doubt that it would make the trip and the car will go a lot longer than I would have time for. It has been serviced and maintained by an expert retired Mercedes technician. You could drive it a long time as it is or put some money in the cosmetics and have a good running car to show. I have had it up to 90 mph, and it is rock solid on the road and a great reliable driver; the brakes are strong and the vacuum assist is a great system if you have ever driven the earlier cars which didn't have it.
