Vehicle Detail
1957 Porsche 356 super coupe .1 family owned since new restoration project. She has been handed down thru 3 generations. She is almost complete but has rusty floor pans .Our full intentions was to restore her to concourse but do not have the skill. She has a great body but rusty floor pans . My Daughter And I were going to make it her first car but she is to much for us to do . We found her thinking it was a semi pro restoration but do not have the tools or knowledge to treat her right. She has Been in storage for 30 years (1982) in a storage facility. My wife and I have owned about Three 356s over years in the 80s and 90s and wanted another. Her body is very straight with minimal rust or repair to be done . She has no collisions or panel replacement . Her hood is matching #s and is unbent as far as we can see. we can not find her rear deck lid #s but holds the same patina . Her body is really straight and in primer wth just surface rust. Her panels all fit together very tight with proper gaps . As far as we can see there is no bondo except the front lip where meets the hood ( 6 inches long)and not deep. The bottom of the doors are solid both sides as far as we can see. Most of the wheel well area look strong intact and unrusted. The logitunals are 80% unrusted. Surpisingly Under the hood is mainly rust free except for the battery box. Her gas tank look new inside no rust. Her hood is unbent as far as we can see with only size of a dime rust area in front lip . We have Her original headlights,Front hood badge and chome,Rear tear drop lens's,carpet molding at door, spare side vent window drivers,2 carb rebuild kits,Rear seat bottom,Two hub caps,Both front seats, some seat belts, both top of door painted trim, liscence glass, beehive tail light. All being Porsche parts. From research we believe she was Made after March 1957 because of Her tear drop tail lights and thicker seats. We also believe she is a T1. Her logitunals are 80% unrusted. Paint code shows it was originally Aqua marine blue paint code 5707. From all signs the interior is black. Her body is really solid and straight if you can tackle the bottom you have it made. Her engine was freeed up when we found her .Her engine # is 22441 which indicates a 1956 1300 cc .We will look up the tranny Numbers and post later. She looks complete except air filters. Engine bay looks unrusted. We have just ordered a Kardex report and will forward it to the new buyer. We also have records from right before storage 1977-1982. It will only come with bill of sale. We have always loved the look of the A over the later body styles.we hope she goes to a good home. We are looking for another good or great driver before July when my daughter gets her liscence. we want a Pre A ,A or C Email if you have a trade or one for sale.we will post more pics later. We will not end the auction early high bidder gets her. You are more than welcome to come out and inspect.
