Vehicle Detail
For Sale is my 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans Convertible. Buy it now and drive it to the Little Indians Convention in Ohio in August! My pictures show Before, Restoration and After! I purchased this car in 2010 from a gentleman in Ohio. This car was sold new in Columbus and spent it's entire life in Ohio until I hauled it to Virgina and then to Ft Lauderdale, FL (where she's very happy!) When I bought this car and first saw it, my reaction was "What have I done now??" But, she surprised me. She has a solid floor and trunk pans, an original interior that just needed cleaning up, a little 4 cylinder engine that runs fine and gets good gas mileage and a 2 speed transmission that sometimes balks a bit but moves her along pretty well. After I purchased her, I had a complete maintenance done including new brake cylinders. Since purchase in 2010, she's had a new battery, new tires, new trunk liner, new convertible top and motor and hydraulic lines, seats redyed, new carpet, new antennae, gauges installed, new trunk lining, replaced broken window glass and probably a few things I can't remember. This is a good fun little car with NO options other than a radio that WORKS! I have all the history on this car from 1977. What surprises me the most, once you adjust to no power steering and brakes, is just how well this car drives and rides. John Z DeLorean, who designed this car, was a smart man. Yes, this is the front engine, rear transmission, rope drive model with independent rear suspension and a flat floor pan and a balanced weight distribution. The only thing the car still needs is the turn signal repaired on the column. It does have a turn signal, but you have to manually turn it on and off. Hey, my first car used your arm, so this is still an improvement!
