Vehicle Detail
1963 Buick Skylark / Special SS - Rare Customized Classic! Ready to Resto Mod. Here is a GREAT looking 63 Buick Special 2 door coupe classic automobile in Torred Red and Clear Coat. Looks like a small Impala, GTO or Nova. That's why i decided to put SS decals on it (People in this area love it...hope you do too). It has a 198 cu (3.2L) V6 with automatic. Has same chassis as the Pontiac Tempest and the Olds F-85. The weight is only about 2,700 lbs. Sooooo…. It’s the perfect candidate car for a high performance professional “Resto-Mod” if you add a new motor, suspension and brakes. I’ve done most of the expensive and time consuming work and parts locating. Now you can bring it home to enjoy as is or turn it into a beast! Even has the Super Rare OEM dashboard tachometer. When you take this ride to your local car show you’d better get ready for attention. Most people start scratching their head trying to figure out what it is. They really get confused when they see the SS decals. There are only a handful of these left in the world. Check ebay and you'll see. Now something about the custom work done: My body man removed everything that said Buick (all emblems, chrome and letters) except the ones on the tach, speedometer and radio. I have great photos from the body shop to show you the care that was taken. The car has a "Slick Sand" shell and, was then primed, painted, clear coated and buffed. It has new door handles. Bumpers were re-chromed last year at a cost of $1,100.00. All the other body chrome and trim (except grill) was either restored or replaced with the best parts that I could find. Car has also been garaged since restoration. Has new carpet and seats redone. Headliner is ok but could use a professional re-do. New custom made door panels installed. Transmission just serviced. Steering wheel has been changed to a sport wheel and feels Great in your hands. Newer Goodyear tires (95% tread) and new Outlaw II wheels. Recent brake work. Car could use new shocks. New exhaust system and chrome tips. Has early 70's Camaro side mirrors which have been striped of paint down to the aluminum and look awesome! Custom made aluminum trim between tail lights. New trunk rubber seals. Needs upper door rubber seals. Highly polished windshield wipers. There is so much to say about this car that I am sure that i forgot something. If you are a serious buyer email me your questions before bidding. I will not take bids from new and unproven bidders. This is a CASH deal! Bank certified check or money order must be verified funds before car is released (too many scams). If you personally pick up the car I can go to the bank with you and get the cash from YOUR account and sign over the title right there with the bank notary. A $500.00 non-refundable Pay Pal deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close. If you buy locally I can take the deposit in cash and i will give you a receipt. If you choose to use the BUY IT NOW option, the payment is due immediately at auction ending. I only drive the car to local car shows which are no more than 1 hour or two away. I have not had any problems. For long distances I would recommend a trailer or car hauler. This car looks very fast, like it could do the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds but the engine is quite tame. Sounds pretty good for a V6 with the performance exhaust but, do not expect high performance unless you want to change the motor (just being honest). My dream is for someone to put a Grand National motor in it. It would be one crazy fast ride! I do not believe that you will find a nicer customized 63' ANYWHERE! With a little more time and work this car could be a show car. It's not perfect but way above average condition. Car is being sold as-is, where-is. I can help as needed. Thanks for looking. On May-29-12 at 09:43:15 PDT, seller added the following information:I have been asked about rust. This is a Southern car and had very little rust.
