Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Classic. I purchased this car last year to do a project but decided ultimately to do something different. This is a really nice car. For being 24 years old, it still turns heads and runs well. I take buying and selling cars very seriously so I will be very accurate in describing this car for you. I encourage you to come and look at it if you like, however, there will be no disappointments. This car has less than 47,000 original miles. Let me start with the overall specifics of the car. It has the 307 V8 with a 4 barrel carb. It is finished in GM's light blue with a 1/3 Vinyl roof in dark blue. It is an automatic transmission with manual windows and locks. It has a front manual bench seat. It has A/C and it works and blows cold. All owner's manuals are with the car. The car has power brakes and power steering. The power antenna still works and the radio is a restored GM-Delco that is correct for the car. When it was rebuilt, I has them install an iPod port in the front. The cassette player works as well. The interior of the car is very clean. No rips, tears or stains. The pictures speak for themselves. The drivers side carpet is mildly soiled but not bad. There is a brand new set of floor mats in the car. The only items I am aware of that do not work is the rear defroster. The switch is all there, but I have not played with it. The headliner was also replaced and is missing the dome light. There are some cracks in the steering wheel which is also very normal for this car. Under the hood, I have installed a new piece of hood installation. I have fixed an exhaust leak and have installed a new wiper motor and washer fluid pump. They now work as they should. The car still has the original silver wiper blades on and could be refilled. I did not change them as I figured the new owner would like to have them. I have just changed the oil and filter. The car does not leak a drop. It is very dry and clean underneath. You will see from the photos, the car as a brand new Pennsylvania safety inspection and emissions inspection. The car report attached to this listing will indicate it failed an emissions test in Ohio. I am sure it did before I bought it as it had an exhaust leak. I also installed a complete new body mount kit as the old mounts were dry rotted. I also installed two new rear brake cylinders as they were both leaking. The car now brakes like new. The tires are like brand new and the American racing rims look nice. The rims have some wear and could stand a good polishing. I also have 4 original Oldsmobile wire hubcaps that came on the car when new. Those will be included with this auction. On the exterior, this car looks really nice from 10 feet. If you are into cars, you know exactly what I mean. As you look at the car from the photos, you will see exactly what you would expect from a 24 year old unrestored car. The paint looks nice but not perfect. The roof and trunk have faded and could stand to be re-clearcoated. There is a small dent in the roof above the a-pillar, (very small). The driver and passenger doors have had some rust work fixed and painted. You will see from the photos that they look nice, but they are not perfect. All and all though, for this money, the car looks very nice. I want to be clear that it is not perfect but stil very nice. Please review the photos and I can take some additional if you would like to see something specifically. I do not want to undersell it either. The photos that are posted here were taken on May 13, 2012. You be the judge on the appearance of the car. I think it looks nice. All and all this is a great running car in nice shape. I do have the car listed locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction before it closes. If you want to make me an offer, please feel free to contact me. I also ask that you be serious if you bid on the car. I take my 100% positive feedback seriously and I will cancel any bids from bidders with less than 10 feedbacks if they do not contact me in advance. You are responsible for shipping and sales tax. I would not hesitate driving this car home. Thank you for looking.
