Mechanically, this car is in excellent condition. Engine was overhauled using new old stock heads, cylinders and rear main seal. Has had front link pins, steering bushing and bearings overhauled. Brakes and brake cylinders have been overhauled. All this work has been done within the last 10,000 miles. Car starts easily and drives just the way a Beetle should. Condition issues include the following. Clear coating is starting to peel off on rear fenders. In several spots, I have painted by hand to stop rust spots. If it were up to me, I would replace the 6 volt lighting system with the 12 volt kit as lights are weak. Car comes with two radios, the Saphire radio that came with the car and an AM/FM/Marine Band radio that was an option on some VWs. Neither of these is currently working.
