White 2002 Ford Taurus SE wagon for parts or fix. This was my mother in laws car,I will do my best to describe. 3.0L, v6 automatic. 4 door wagon with 3rd seat in back. The car is in decent condition inside and out but not perfect. There is a little rust at right rear wheel well (5th and 6th picture). There are also some dents and dings - please note the scraped up front driver side bumper (12th picture). It has power windows, mirrors, cruise control and cd changer. I am not sure if the A/C is good or not. The power antenna does not go down automatically, but you can hear it trying. There is also a squeek/chirping that sounds like it is coming from the serpintine belt area. The idler pulley, tensioner pulley, water pump, cam syncronizer assembley and alternator were all replaced with in the last 4 months. (all new parts except the alternator was a used one) I am not sure if the car had keyless entry, but we only have one key for it and there is no remote. The car died about 2 months ago and It was checked by dealer and they said it needed a new fuel pump (their estimate was about $750 - she decided not to fix it), . There is also a battery light on on the dash, while idling it has just over 14volts. I am not sure if the issues are related or not, the battery light has been on for awhile. I decide to tinker with it a bit and replaced the fuel pump last weekend with a used one, it made no difference. I can start the car and it will run at a high idle for a minute or 2 (approx 1500 RPM), then it will drop or stall. If you give it any gas or put it in gear it will stall. It may restart but stall immediately once in gear of give it any gas. When if cools down or sits overnight it will start and do the high idle thing again. The check engine light does not come on and there are no codes if you attach a scanner. Some other info: She got the car in august 2009. At that time it had just had new tires, new shocks, and the wiring harness at the rear of the engine was replaced with a used one - The harness touched the exhaust manifold and had some wires damaged, check engine light came on. This short caused issues and the Engine control module, Idle air control and mass air flow sensor were replaced after the harness was replaced. Please feel free to ask questions or come to take a look. The car is not driveable and will need to be towed. Sold as is. Inspected until 9-2012. Could be a good cheap car for someone who is mechanically inclined or use for parts.
