Vehicle Detail
The wife says 3 projects is one too many. She also wanted to know exactly how many pickup trucks do two people need! (this one would be number four and she might have a point, but then again..can you ever really have too many trucks?) She then pointed out that her car is next after I finish my current truck. Thinking about it I realized I like to eat and I like to sleep with both eyes closed; not to mention she makes a good point – she does need the “grocery getter” to haul our dogs around. Since l firmly believe in happy wife/happy life I decided to find a good home for the F1. The F1 is in good shape – the bed, tailgate and wheel wells are not rusted through (pictures). The body is solid with some dents and rust but it isn’t beat to death. The floor pan and drivers side running board will need replaced. Overall it is one of the most solid 1950 Fords I have seen that isn’t restored. It was in the barn until last week when we rolled it out to work on our other project. I rebuilt the 1966 390 (I have built street and racing engines for years so it is well built and cost over $7000 for the engine alone). Bored 60. 14 bolt GT heads with manifolds. Hardened valve seats. New valves, springs, rockers, Unilite distributor, fuel pump, water pump, coil and starter. The carburetor was used on another project so it does need a carburetor. The 1967 C6 has been totally rebuilt (transmissions aren't my thing so I had a Ford transmission specialist rebuild it). Early Camaro 10 bolt rear end with Posie mounts (can been seen in picture of the truck bed) Drive shaft included Disc brake conversion already completed. We found an original heater unit for the truck (can be seen on the floor in one of the pictures of the interior). These are very difficult to find. Lots of extra parts – the rear end in the bed of the truck is the 10bolt that goes with it, the box on the seat and floor board contains parts for the truck. There are also extra parts still in the barn that will go with it as well. The engine and transmission run/work beautifully and have less than 3000 miles on them. This is one heck of a bargin - over $12,000 invested in the engine, transmission, parts and the actually truck. At the buy now price you are walking away with the cost of the engine alone - but meet the reserve and the deal is even bigger (haven't even come close to the cost of the engine....hint, hint!). ** NOTE: 5/6/2012 This vehicle will NOT be relisted for sale if it doesn't sell during this listing. It will be stored and eventually worked on. Wife kind of had a change of heart!
