The first generation Celica was released to the Japanese market intended to
be a more affordable alternative to Toyota's sportscar, the 2000GT. The car's
platform was shared with the Toyota Carina yet sold at a different dealership
sales channel called Toyota Corolla Store. The Carina was sold at Toyota
