Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1976 Triumph Spitfire convertible, 4 speed manual, 4 cylinder 1500cc, runs great, 4 speed manual transmission shifts well in all the gears, reverse works well; idles well, drives well, goes through the gears well. This is a North Carolina vehicle and is 99% rust free and has just been pulled out of the barn after a few year slumber; Body is in good condition and is for the major part rust free-- I have taken pictures of the one area that has one small dime sized hole; floor pans and all chassis parts are remarkably rust free-no cancer, no holes; paint is original and is in good shape on the trunklid and rear part of the car; the previous owner primed a portion of the front hood with red primer. I have had the paint "photo matched" and have purchased paint for the next owner should you decide to paint the car; I decided to leave the paint alone since it is original; it is very hard to find a car that has the original paint on the car; if we repainted the car, you might think we are trying to hide something; this is a very honest car and we have decided to leave it just as we have found it. There is a saying in the car business that "It is only original once" and this is the case with the paint. Rubber bumpers are in very good condition and the chrome is original; the chrome is original and passable Mechanically the car runs very well, there are no ticks, no knocks, no strange noises when the engine is running or being revved. Oil looks good, radiator is in good shape, engine runs very cool (doesn't even reach the first bar on the temp guage). Clutch is strong and the transmission shifts well through all the gears; Brakes are good; emergency brake holds very well; plenty of brake pad all the way around; tires have plenty of tread and are not weather checked; lights works, windshield wipers work; turn signals work; speedometer and odometer are not currently working; radio works; flashers work; egr light works; interior lights works; engine starts right away on the first hit of the starter; The interior has new carpet and the driver side seat was repaired so that it wasn't threadbare. There is a new black top that has been installed on the vehicle. If you are looking for a fun little British sports car that you can drive and also work on as you go then this is it; It is not a rust bucket and it as you can see by the pictures that it is solid. We have priced the car reasonably; we sell very nice examples selling in the $8000-$10000 range. This car isn't perfect but it is a fun little British sports car that you can have fun in running around. We have posted some videos of the car running and driving: http://youtu.be/FTIPECVBfU8 and http://youtu.be/Kke4otxKn34 If you have any questions or would like to see the car in person please call Tom Nelson at 919-522-4412; We are a licensed and bonded and insured Auto Dealer in North Carolina; we have an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau; NC title in hand; Buy with confidence! Our dealership is T.J. Auto, Inc., 1312 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC. 27603; We also have a 100% rating on Ebay. This is the second time we have had to list the vehicle because an Ebayer clicked the Buy it Now button and decided not to buy it. If you put in an offer or decide to buy the car understand that this is a serious transaction and that it costs us time and money to list the car on Ebay.
