Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT/SE 383, 4 speed.Project Car For starters I have never had a car not meet it's reserve. This car does have a clean and clear title. This is a pretty rare challenger being that is is an rt/se car. I bought this car a while back and it's a long story. The guy I bought it from told me it was in a lot better shape then what it was and that he had all the parts to make the car complete and I ended up not getting a bunch of the parts. Lets start with way the car was represented to me. It was suppose to be a very very clean car. I guess with me living in Nevada my expectations are extremely different. I have had family from back east, they said they would die for a car that clean. I have a friend from Oregon that says the same thing. Look at the pictures of the car closely and you make the decision on what you think if this is a project you want to take on. So I have spent a fortune trying to gather it's parts and when things like this happen you lose all interest. I have done nothing to the car so the winner will receive it in the same condition that I received it in. It has been sitting in my garage and it is time for it to find a new home. I have never had a car never make it's reserve. My reserve will be less then what I had to pay for it. I probably will be harder on this car then i should be. So when you look at the photos you take it as you see it. So please please look at the pictures before you make your decision on this car. Lets start with the usual mopar rust issues. Battery box looks good with no rust. Cowl below the windshield looks good with no rust as you will see. Hood hinge areas look really good. Front windshield area looks really good. Rear window area looks very clean as you will see. floor pans are in great shape except in one spot under the drivers gas pedal about the size of a tennis ball or so and this was one of the issues I was not told about when I bought the car when i clearly asked about it. Someone did put a sheet metal patch on the floor and they did a good job and did not cut out any of the original floor pan. So you could probably pull the sheet metal and probably just replace it with a small patch. I personally would not put a new floor pan in it. Passenger and rear floor pans have no rust, pin holes or anything wrong with them. The trunk pan someone has put a piece of sheet metal as you will see in photos. As you will see in the underneath of the floor pan it is probably in 95% better condition then most trunks that I see on mopars. The pan is not that bad but holes are still holes and you can see that in that shot. As you will see in the trunk pan photo there is no gas tank in this car at this time and this was another part I was promised to recieve that never came. You can buy a replacement one for about $150. I do have the gas tank straps and look to be in good shape and you will see those in the parts photos. Now to the bottom of the car. As you will see the car does have a lot of surface rust going on. If you took a wire wheel 98% of it should clean up nicely. I just do not have the time to do it myself. As you will see I have a bunch of photos of frame rails and floor pans. On to the body. As the body goes you will probably find body filler/bondo here and there. To make my description easier i'm going to say there is bondo and filler everyplace because you can not get a body that straight for a car of it's age. I believe the quarters have been reworked on this car All restored cars have some form of bondo or body filler in them. So if you sand the car all the way down and you don't find anything that is great! On to the inside. As you can see the rallye gauges are in really nice shape. None of the gauge needles are missing. As you can see someone dyed the interior red and most panels were painted red. I have black door panels as you will see in the parts photos. The paint is peeling off the original ones and there should be a way to strip the remaining off. You can see the seats are in great shape but you will find there to be a half inch tear in the fabric on the drivers seat. You will see headliner is in great shape. Overhead console is in great shape. Do have overhead console light as you will see in the parts photos. All window glass is intact but windshield does have a crack. All window regulators seem to work really good. On to engine compartment and drive train. Engine compartment seems to be really good, does have a 383 in it. i was told it was the original #s matching motor but I am listing it as no guarantee since i have not looked. So you will have to look at it as a non #s matching car. i have ran this motor moving it around my yard and I will tell you it is definately a pumped up motor. It is the most radical 383 that I have personally owned. If you look at my other listings you will see I have owned and do own lots of mopars. That is a big plus coming from me. It does have a 727 automatic sitting in it right now. Some incompetent person put a 5,000 stall torque converter in the tranny and apparently they didn't know that a big block starts to redline at 4500rpm. Transmisson is starting to go. So car will definatly need to be transported to it's new home. Car does have a dana rear end which is a rare rear end as we all know. If i left anything out that you want to know about please contact me and I will ansewer any questions you have. To somebody this car is probably definatly worth restoring. When you look at the fender tag this car does have some rare options like FY1 yellow, TX9 black interior, factory hood pins, rallye gauges and mirrors, 4 speed, big block, rt/se option and more. Like I said in the beginning i was going to be hard on this car and am selling it as a 100% project rusty bucket. Look at the photos and you might decide it's not that much of a project for you. This car is being sold with 100% no warranty expressed. i am not one to hide anything so if you would like to fly out and take a look at the car I have no problem with that and I would even pick you up at the Reno/Tahoe international airport and is only 10 minutes from my house. I always suggest buyers come and look at a vehicle i am selling. As you will see I have a 100% feedback and do not do people dirty. If you are in the local area then I highley recommend you to come out and take a look. Once again this car is being sold as is, where is, no warranties. One last thing there are a lot of extra parts that will be going with the car. The parts that are missing that I know of: gas tank, 4 speed linkage, bell housing and rear window se plug and believe that to be it. Please look at my other listings I have a bunch of mopar parts up for auction that are starting at 99 cents no reserve. If this is not the car for you than check out my other car auctions. I have a total of 7 mopar cars up for auction this week. If you decided to get one of the cars and also get any part auctions I will put the parts in the car so we can save you on some shipping fees with the post office. We will and have sold cars overseas and do understand all the things that go into that.Buyer is fully responsible for finding a transport if needed but we will work with the company to get your car to you as smoothly as possible. We allow 3 weeks(21 days) from day of auction ending for full payment. We accept all forms of payment and will release vehicle the day the payment is cleared. We always recommend that all tentional buyers come look at the cars before bidding so you you exactly what you will be receiving. We leave 10 minutes from the Reno/Tahoe International airport and would have no problem to pick up you up to view the car and if you are local then we definatly reccomend for you to come look at the car since all it will take is a little bit of your time.We also allow 90 days at no charge for pick up of vehicle unless other arrangements have been made. We understand it can be hard to find the right transport and sometimes you have to wait for the truck to make it to that area. If you don't know where to start for looking for a good transport let me recommend one. I had a vehicle towed by this family operated business and I was completly satisfied. The driver called ahead of time for pick up of vehicle, inspected the car with me on the phone to be sure it was what I was expecting and called ahead of time for drop off. He was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing and showed he cared as if the cars were his own. They are a little more in price but they go coast to coast and eliminate the headache of dealing with most transport companies that will take yur deposit then you don't hear from them again for a month. They had my car within a week of taking my deposit. A+++ companyYou can get a hold of them by (847)426-3104 and www.yourcartransport.com If you have any questions at all feel free to contact me at anytime and I will get back with you asap and you can also call me at (775)857-9854.
