It is powered by a 220-horsepower Vortec 3500 3.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing, combined with either a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission. For off-road capability, the H3 features an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system combined with features such as a fully locking rear differential, traction control, underbody shielding and GM's StabiliTrak vehicle stability enhancement system. Introduction The H3 is HUMMER's midsize SUV and the third model in the vehicle lineup. Based on a Chevrolet pickup platform, the H3 is designed to deliver authentic HUMMER style and off-road capability in a smaller, more fuel-efficient package. If any Hummer makes sense for general civilian use, it would have to be this Hummer H3, which is smaller, less expensive and more fuel-efficient than other Hummers. The $100,000-plus Hummer H1 is a military vehicle too raw for civilian use. The swaggering civilian H2 is far more civilized than the H1. But it costs approximately $52,000 and is a gas-guzzler that is too large for easy driving or parking in congested areas. This smaller H3 costs a fraction of the H1 or H2 family members and is extremely user-friendly. The H3 uses a GM pickup truck chassis and drive train to keep costs down and increase fuel economy ratings. But it's beefed up and has additional ground clearance and underbody shielding to help give it a Hummer's remarkable off-road abilities. It's said to do as well as an H2 when fording 24-inch-deep streams or climbing over rocks and other off-road obstacles A full-time all-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing and locking center differential help off-road driving, and that drive system provides more grip on slippery roads. Tempting Options This Beautiful H3 has the $800 18" chrome wheels factory upgrade and the $3,125 Luxury option group, which has such items as leather upholstery, heated power front seats and an upscale sound system with a 6-disc CD changer. It also was equipped with a chrome front grill. It also has such options as the $800 power sunroof. This SUV also has the optional Light Bar across the front. This is a very unique and hard to find option that really makes this SUV look Great! Not surprisingly, with all its extras, this H3's list price was right at $37,000 new. Well Equipped Additionally, the H3 has a tremendous amount of standard equipment. It includes air conditioning, cruise control, a tilt wheel, an AM/FM/CD player and power mirrors, windows and locks with remote keyless entry ready. There also are split-folding back seats, a rear wiper-washer and even a tire pressure monitor. I have never taken this H3 off-road, neither did the previous owner, but the standard traction control does help during slippery on-road driving, as did the huge tires, anti-lock brakes and tight 37-foot turning circle. Those wanting more stability can get the GM Stabilitrak anti-skid system, which comes with the $1,695 automatic transmission. Only Five Cylinders Hummer was shooting for at least a 20-mpg highway rating with the H3 because the H2 is such a fuel hog. That's partly why the H3 has a 3.5-liter engine with only five cylinders. The H3 met the target, delivering an estimated 20 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission. Acceleration is peppy because the engine produces 220 horsepower with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. It has variable valve timing to help it be more responsive at various engine speeds. The H3 hits 60 mph from a standing start in 10.5 seconds and exhibits an acceptable 65-75 mph passing time. Fuel Economy Payoff The payoff with five cylinders is the best Hummer fuel economy. The H2 gets approximately 9 to 11 mpg in the city and is lucky to reach the low teens on highways. The estimated city figure with the H3 is 18 mpg with either transmission. The H3 interior looks upscale, especially with this Luxury package. Gauges can be easily read and there are supportive seats, handy dual front cup-holders and large, easily reached controls. The H3 is an true sport utility for the masses; it's more acceptable for daily use than the H2. Its price, size, fuel economy and unique image should be attractive to any SUV buyers. And it hasn't abandoned the off-road prowess that is a strong Hummer selling point. Exterior: This Hummer H3 Looks Fantastic! The Exterior is a Bright and Beautiful Black. This Hummer has Matching Deep Tinted Windows that really complete the overall exterior appeal. Overall this SUV Looks Great/Perfect! Traditional Hummer Styling Traditional Hummer styling makes the H3 look nearly as big as the H2, as long as there is no H2 around for comparison purposes. The H3 has the same assault vehicle styling of the H2, with an extremely vertical windshield, round headlights in square holes, a 7-slot grille and a spare tire on the cargo door. The H3 is nearly 17 inches shorter overall than the H2 and is about the length of a midsize sedan. This size makes it super practical and easy to drive. With the length of a sedan but the interior cargo space of an SUV, it combines for the perfect car. It's also 6.5 inches narrower and 4 inches lower, with about an 11-inch shorter wheelbase, or distance between axles. The exterior is a combination of Black and Chrome that Looks Great! Molded lower body panels iconic of Hummer combine with Black Door Handles, Dark Window Tint, and a Roof Rack for a tough and sporty look. I get so much attention when I drive this Hummer H3. I am in and out of so many cars that it is just normal to see me in and out of car. What’s interesting is that many people have commented on how good this truck looks and how it just fits me and I look good/right driving it. I get compliments on this SUV every time I drive it. I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy this H3 is to get in and out of. I am only 5 feet tall and have found it to be overall, very easy to get in and out of. The other lady in the office just had knee surgery and commented on how surprisingly easy it was for her to get in and out of. I think this is because the seats sit comfortably low to the floor of the inside of the suv. I even took my god-grandmother out the other evening and she was able to get in and out without issue. The matching black tubular side steps are a $595 factory add. They look great and add to the overall rugged appeal of this Hummer. The cheaper flat plastic options are an embarrassment for any Hummer. The Exterior of this Hummer H3 is loaded with features that you want to find in a luxury SUV. The commanding road presence of this Hummer is fantastic. You will find the exterior condition to be in Very Good Condition and much above what I would expect for the year and mileage. Exterior Features are Abundant. This SUV Features: 18" Chrome Wheels, 4x4 Capabilities, Deep Tinited Windows, Tow Package, Hard Spare Tire Cover, Roof Rack and So Much More! There are two keys and the original owner’s manual. Exterior Upgrades Continue with the Dark Tinted Windows. Protecting Passengers, Items, and the Interior Itself, the Tint also looks Fantastic. I love these dark tinted windows, and so do young children. The dark tint keeps them happier and quieter. These dark tinted windows also help to protect the interior of the SUV from sun damage as well as protecting items inside. These windows make it very difficult for a would be thief to easily see what times you may have inside. The rear hatch opens as one solid piece. It Features Rear Wiper, Defrost, and Even Washer Fluid! This rear hatch opening as one solid piece is a great feature, you can stand right next to the bumper when you are loading or unloading cargo. The spare tire is mounted on this rear door for added appeal and practicality. Rear Mounting the spare increases ground clearance since it is not under-mounted and maintains cargo space since it is not interior mounted. The rear bumper has non skid to make getting in and out easier and safer. This Hatch opens up to the spacious rear cargo area. Back here, you fill find more extras and surprises. One of my favorites is the hard covering here in the back cargo, holding true to the Hummer reputation. Even with the back seats up, you will find plenty of cargo area. The high roof and squared off rear end allows for a lot of stuff to be tossed in the back. We actually packed up for a girls trip with a week's work of clothing, shoes, accessories, hair products, etc for a road trip in this H3. Even with all our stuff and snacks, we still have room for a shopping stop at an outlet mall. Wow! You will find this SUV to be in overall Above Average - Average Condition. The overall stance, color, and add-ons make for a fantastic SUV! This Hummer is riding on a set of 18" Upgraded Alloy Wheels and Tires. The Tires are not new but they had no trouble passing VA State Safety Inspection and should be good for some time to come! Overall, I do not find any noteworthy flaws or imperfections anywhere on the outside of this Hummer. There is usual wear; maybe a tiny door ding or scuff but no real imperfections. I do just love this SUV so much that maybe I see it through rose colored glasses but I do get tons of compliments when I drive it. There is a chip/crack in the windshield. It did not fail it for inspection and I did not even notice it until someone riding in the passenger seat pointed it out. It is very small. The paint on this suv is so shiny and glossy, just look at all the reflections! Interior: The Interior of this truck is also in Very Nice Condition. The Luxury Package offers up everything you want in an H3! From Front to Back, Top to Bottom, Luxury Surrounds! The interior of this Hummer is a combination of Black, Tan and Metal Accents. The overall color combination of the interior is just great! I have said it before and I will say it again, it is my opinion that this is the best color combination on an H3! You will find supple Sport Leather Seating, Matching Tan Carpets, Black Hard Plastic Accents, Metal looking trim, and so much more that dresses up the interior of this SUV. When you think of Hummer, Luxury, Comfort, Upgrades, Plush, and such words are not always the first thing that come to mind, but they should be, especially when talking about this Luxury Package Upgraded Hummer H3! The seats features a very plush and luxurious Leather upholstery. The seats are primarily Tan with Black Trim. I really like this two tone look. The Black Trim keeps it interesting without being too much. The two tone seats really tie together the exterior color, dash, carpets, rear cargo area, and in a nutshell, the whole SUV. I was wearing a similar color tan boot the other day with black pants. When I asked my fiancée if it looked ok together, he clearly responded asking if I like the inside of my SUV. Of course I said yes, that I love the inside of the H3. He affirmed that, well, that was basically the same color combination so if it looks good in my truck then it must look good as an outfit. What a clever man he is. The seats are in overall very nice condition and show just very light wear. The previous two owners were both single adults so you will notice that the only real wear shows on the driver’s seat as most of the other seats have rarely been used. There is a Black Leather Steering Wheel that is in Excellent Condition! The carpets are matching tan and black. The carpets and mats are all in excellent condition. This Hummer will seat 5 passengers. The front seats are high back and very comfortable captain style seats. Both front seats are multipoint adjustable and heated. On the outside of each seat base in the most common location, are power seat controls and the heat controls. There are even 2 heat settings, high and low. The rear seat is a split three passenger bench. Roomy Interior Hummer calls the H3 a 5-seater. There's good room for tall adults. The opening for the cargo area is high, and that area is large and its size can be increased by flipping the back seats forward. The full-size spare tire attached to the swing-open cargo door. Surprisingly, the rear door is still very easy to open. Entertainmnet This Hummer features a Bose upgraded factory sound system. There is a 6 disc, in dash cd player. I will mention that this radio even plays my home burned cds, no problem. The radio face also features a very easy to read digital clock. There are 6 radio pre sets for easy channel surfing. The radio is notably easy to reach from the driver’s seat or the passenger seat. I mentioned earlier that I am short so normally in an SUV I have a very hard time reaching the radio comfortably and I find it very easy to reach the radio in this Hummer. Power Sunroof / Moonroof This Hummer features a HUGE Power Sunroof / Moonroof! This sunroof is much larger than what I expect, even for an suv. To say it is oversized is totally accurate. This huge sunroof has a retractable sunroof, too. So, you can open the shade for some extra sunlight, pop the sunroof up to just vent a little bit of air, or open the sunroof to any open or partially open position. The Luxury inside of this Hummer Continues with All Power Options. There is cruise control with very easy to use controls on the side of the steering wheel. There is a huge overhead sunroof, home link garage door openers, onstar, outside temperature display on the rear view mirror and much more in the SUV! The Exterior rear view mirrors are power adjustable with a single control on the driver’s door. The large outside rearview mirrors are especially helpful. They can be folded against the side glass when garaging the wide H3 or when protecting them from damage in parking lots. The Driver and Seat is multipoint adjustable and super comfortable. There are dual front adjustable height shoulder belts and 2 Rear Adjustable Height Shoulder Belts. There are 2 Front and 2 Rear Adjustable Height Head Rests. The Front Shoulder Belts are Height Adjustable! The rear seat is a 3 person bench that flips and folds. There is a center cup holder that flips out and holds 2 drinks. The rear seat has a surprisingly amount of leg room! The rear is a flip and fold split bench. The flip-able rear seat increases cargo space and versatility. The rear seat splits into two sections and thus can be folded down in two separate sections so you can customize the cargo area. The cargo area is very cool. The rear cargo area is lined in black hard plastic making it very practical. A Large Tan and Black Carpet is back here for the luxury aspect. There are hooks for securing items. When you flip down the rear seat backs, you can use the seat back latches for securing cargo. There is a power source and a storage compartment on the passenger side of the cargo area. The Tire Jack/Tools are conveniently stored in the rear hatch door as shown below. This super easy to drive Automatic Transmission Features Overdrive. You can turn the overdrive off. The gear shifter is located on the center console and the OD on / off switch is on the side of this shifter. The 4 Wheel Drive is controlled with simple buttons on the front dash. Just the simple push with one finger and you can shift in and out of 4x4 high / low. There are automatic locking hubs, of course. The Front Console has storage galore. There are 2 Front Cup Holders, molded to accommodate several cup sizes. There is a Center Armrest with flip top storage. The center armrest is padded and very comfortable. There is are 2 front ac power sources. There are 3 passenger entry handles. Overhead there are front passenger lights, rear passengers and overhead cargo light. The Original Owner's Manual is Included. The Rear Cargo Area is Super Convenient! The Rear is a Swing Hatch. This means you can, with one hand, open the entire rear door. This makes loading and unloading cargo so easy as you don't have to reach over a tailgate, you get to stand right next to the bumper. The Rear Window has a wiper, washer fluid and defrost. Overall the Interior of this Hummer H3 is very nice. Driving Impressions: This H3 Hummer drive just GREAT! I absolutely love it! Since the moment I picked it up from my friend I have driven it. I have started to get made fun of, with friends and co workers kidding me that I have grown roots in this SUV. And, you know what, I don’t care what they say. I have a beautiful SUV that I love to drive. This SUV gets surprisingly good gas mileage. I am finding that I am getting more than the estimated mpg on this Hummer, I estimate as much as 25-26 miles per gallon on the highway. The engine is good and strong. The transmission shifts smoothly. Everything seems to function and work just as it should. I cannot say anything negative about how this H3 drives. This SUV is so smooth that I find myself having to be very careful not to speed. Steering and handling are great. Overall, the ride is composed. It can become truck-like on some road, but after all, this is a truck. The brake pedal has a nice linear action that allows smooth stops, braking distances are average. Under The Hood: This Super Powerful and Practical 3.5L I-5 engine never lets you down. This 211 cubic inch engine produces 220 horsepower @ 5,600 rpm and 225 lbs - ft of torque @ 2,800 rpm. This is a DOHC (Dual Over Head Cam) engine with 20 valves. I have found that I am getting 18-24 miles per gallon over the past almost 3 months I have been driving this SUV. We are not dumping any unwanted junk out of our back yard on ebay. We spend hours taking detailed photos, including specific information about each car, and adding our own impressions of how a car performs. We do not have emotional attachments to these cars and try to be as honest as possible about the overall condition.6. On, ebay you have the confidence that you are shopping with a state licensed, bonded and insured company. We cannot scam and run eBay frauds the way private sellers could. Plus, look at our years ebay history. We want to talk about a couple of items. We are Wholesale Dealers. We buy our cars Directly from New Car Dealers or Private Sellers, Not Auto Auctions. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that we sell quality cars. When they are traded in, someone at the new car dealer drives the car. When we buy the car, someone from our dealership drives the car. If a car has a problem we either fix it or disclose it. We have no intention or knowledge of ever selling a car with a problem.
