Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE AUCTION! 1971 Ford Thunderbird Landau Coupe with 91,898 original miles. This car is mostly original and in mint condition! It is equipped with a 429cid 7.0L Thunderjet V8 making 360hp and 420 lb. ft of torque. Transmission is a C6 3-speed automatic. Rear-end is a Ford 9" with a 3.25 gear. It is also equipped with the desirable DOVE-C heads with 11:1 compression that runs on 93 pump gas. The interior is 100% original and has full power options that all work including dual power bucket seats, cruise control, power antenna, and tilt steering wheel. The car also has A/C but it blows hot. I am the second owner of this beautiful green over green with original white vinyl top classic T-Bird. It has been a Fresno, California car for a great majority of its life and has been meticulously maintained by the original owner and myself. It has always been garaged and the condition of this vehicle proves this fact. I have many historical documents ranging from the original window sticker (which shows this car to be highly optioned at $7,700), a $9,400 appraisal from 1994, registration and insurance documents from the 70's and 80's, as well as maintenance receipts. I can send pictures if desired. I currently have the car insured with Hagerty Collector Car Insurance and they appraised this car at $11,600 and NADA values this car at $11,500. There are only very minor blemishes with this vehicle. The original owner had the car repainted about 8 years ago and the clear coat has minor pealing on the driver side rear quarter panel only. There is also a very minor dent by the passenger side wheel well but it is barely a dent, it was like this when I purchased the car. The car currently runs and drives very well, however, there is a small exhaust leak on the passenger side exhaust manifold, the carb will need a rebuild soon, although it has never overheated in my ownership the original coolant system should be checked out, and it has just recently started to leak a very tiny amount of oil from the passanger side valve cover because the gasket is old. I have listed every issue with the car as I am being completely honest because I stand behind my 100% feedback. I just replaced all the light bulbs on this vehicle and everything else electrical works flawlessly. Extras that go with the car are: 2 covers, a set of chrome valve covers with chrome oil cap, new distributor wires, and a parts catalog from a very well respected Thunderbird specialist shop in Oregon. I have a clean and clear title in my name. Overall this is a very clean, very mint, and very collectable big block T-Bird. It drives wonderfully as is and I regularly cruise at 70mph on the freeways. At every car show it draws a crowd and is a hit at the Woodward Dream Cruise and the Ford World Headquarters Auto Show every year. If you have any questions at all, please contact Adam at 734-564-2881, I respond to calls and texts, or email me through eBay. I have the car offered for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime! I also may be interested in trade offers, just let me know what you have and maybe we can make a deal. Vehicle is available for viewing, just contact me and we can arrange a time. I also will be willing to work with your shipper of choice should you decide you want the car shipped. I will only sell to the mainland U.S. however! I can also personally ship the car on my 18ft auto trailer up to 300 miles for a fairly arranged fee. Do not miss this opportunity to own this wonderful classic automobile! On Apr-21-12 at 10:50:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that I washed and waxed the T-Bird this morning and it was gleaming in the sun. These pictures really do not do this car justice, it looks better in person. Also went through all the documentation I have: 1979 registration in Clovis, CA, 1987 passed emissions test documents in Clovis, CA, two original 1971 window stickers with a $7,878.94 selling price, original 1971 owners manual, current registration in my name, and letter from Ford to the original owner about the new seatbelt design. Also, local interest in the car is picking up, just gave a viewing this morning and have another one scheduled for tomorrow with a cash offer so this car is inching closer and closer to ending the auction early. This car sold multiple times between $6,000-$8,000 last fall but it did not meet my reserve each time, so if all the bidders and watchers want to see this auction go to the end, the bidding is going to have to pick up soon or I will be selling local, just a heads up. On Apr-23-12 at 21:48:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok all you guys out in eBay land who are watching and bidding, here is the ultimatum with this auction. In 24hrs, I will be ending this auction early if the bidding has not reached at least $6,000 as this is what a local dealership has offered me as a trade in on a new truck that I've been looking at. The reason I am selling this car is to help pay for the new truck but to be fair to all the all the people who have been calling me with questions, watching, and bidding... again, I will let the auction continue for only 24 more hours unless bidding has reached $6,000 so do not think that your going to place a bid in the last hour to try to keep the price as low as possible. Its going to take atleast $6,000 to buy this car. I am trying to be as fair as possible but I do reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale, as listed in the description, which I may be exercising as fair warning.
