These cars were all hand made by Karmann. I am only the third owner. The first owner had the car for a few short years, the second owner over twenty five years. I have had it for 11. This car has been kept maintained but not ever fully restored to show quality. I bought the car to drive it. I have all of the original paperwork, including the original invoice and correspondence between the first owner and Bayerisch Motoren Werke. In the last ten years, it has been repainted and the seats were recovered with leather. Both are very professional jobs. You can tell by the pictures that additional work to the interior needs to be performed. This car runs fine, and as far as I know it has always been kept in a garage. It has been garaged as long as I’ve had it, and the previously owner told me the same. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt once each. I have miscellaneous parts and tools that are specific to the car, and three sets of keys. I have odometer readings, but I can’t be sure of the base 100,000 or if there has ever been any odometer trouble or trouble with the transmission that would affect the odometer. I have put less than 15,000 miles on it in the last 11 years. Current odometer 01944 Transmission rebuilt 65690 Engine rebuilt 42000 The first 29 years of this cars life were spent in southern California. The last eleven years it’s been in Oklahoma. It has very little rust. Those of you that are familiar with these cars know that there is a little pocket on the front fenders that trap water. The car had minor rust in those spots prior to its recent paint job. One of those spots is still somewhat visible, and a photo of it has been provided.
