I have a nice driver condition 1983 Mustang GLX Convertible. It is equipped with a 5.0L V8 and a 4speed Manual Transmission. The car runs and drives good. It needs a little tlc in a few areas, but presents well. The car originally came from Florida, and has only been in MA for a few years. I have had the car for 3 years, I got it from a guy on the other side of the state, the car sat in the garage and was only used during nice weather. It has never been driven in the winter, I have always kept it in the garage, and never driven it during the rain. The body has no rust except for the drivers lower door, where the seam sealer is cracking(see pics) Otherwise, the underside of the car has the factory rustproofing and I searched for rust and I cannot find it anywhere! The trunk is clean and rust free everything is very clean! The paint is in fair condition, and cleans up well. It has its fair share of scratches and dings for a mostly original 29yr old car. The drivers door, drivers fender, hood, front bumper and passenger fender have had paintwork done at some point, the rest is original. Someone buffed through the edge of the quarters(see pics) Overall, it has its fair share of dings and scratches but no major dents are present. The top works perfectly, but the fabric is not in the best condition. I have a brand new top and glass rear window to go with the car. I also have mostly all the weatherstripping (new) for the top. The new top and weatherstripping is not installed, but will go with the car. The engine runs well, and drives good! Recently (within the past 3 years) replaced all 3 brake hoses, radiator, water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, all coolant hoses, exhaust manifold gaskets, spark plugs, cap, rotor. The car runs and drives good! Original exhaust, with a flowmaster muffler, No other modifications The accelerator pump is a little weak, but I have a carburetor rebuild kit for it. It takes a few pumps to get it started but it runs well!! There is a small exhaust leak somewhere but it is not bad. The car runs and drives good!! Oil pressure gauge does not work and the radio doesnt light up, but works well and the factory amplifier works as well! Interior is in great shape, the drivers seat is splitting at the seams but still looks good! All in all, it is a great original unmolested Fox convertible! It needs a little TLC, drive it while you restore it, or restore it, or drive it as is!! Test drives are welcomed, the car is registered and insured, Come take a look!
