Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my fathers 1967 Barracuda, Formula S, Fastback. He has owned this car since buying it from a family friend in 1985. The car was last on the road in 1990 when the engine was removed to make modifications that never happened. It has sat, collecting dust, in his basement ever since. when i say this is a dream, "barn find", of a car; that is what it is. The car is VERY solid with NO major rust. The engine that comes with the car (disassembled) is a 1970 340 with a steel crank. Transmission and rearend 8.75"x .391/1 gear are still in the car. This would make an excellent project or a restored car. Nothing to hide on this car. Feel free to contact us directly at 336-362-9640 or 336-672-1815. We would be happy to have you visit and inspect the car. This is the first time this car has been offered for sale since my father purchasing it in 1985. It seems like every individual over the years that has been in my parents basement to either work on the heating system or the like has tried to buy it or told others who have called and pestered them about purchasing the car. Fortunately, the car has been in their basement all these years where thieves could not get to it. As I stated before, this is the dream "barn find" of a car. It is solid, an excellent find for anyone in the market. On Apr-20-12 at 08:26:53 PDT, seller added the following information: WOW! We were not expecting this level of interest in the car and quite frankly became overwhelmed with the flood of questions regarding the cars history and structural condition. I apologize for the delay in responses to those who have inquired. In an effort to answer some of the more frequent questions regarding the under carriage and engine bay of the car I have included another round of pictures. As you can see, there is absolutely NO CANCER (structurally comprimising rust) under the car ANYWHERE. There is the typical surface/dust rust one would expect of a car that has sat in a basement for TWENTY TWO YEARS. The car is solid as could possibly be imagined for the year model. I must say, it is nice to be able to say these things in complete confidence. The pictures tell the story; I fine example of the fabled "barn find" car. The 1970 model 340 engine that is included in the auction is a steel crank engine originally built by Petty Enterprises in Level Cross, North Carolina. It is apart now with lots of new parts, including an electronic ignition system. It has "J" heads (ported and polished), forged TRW pistons, had about 3,000 miles on it when removed. ********PLEASE, do not bid if you are not 100% certain that you will be able and intent on purchasing the car.******* >>>>>>>>>>>>>336-301-0932<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Feel free to call at ANYTIME with questions!
