Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1973 914 with the original 1.7 injected motor.( 5 more hp than the 1.8 in 1974) The car was restored in the late 90's. The engine was rebuilt and the body stripped and repainted back to its original color. I do have pics of the car while it was at the body shop and have included them in the pictures below. The car runs excellent and starts the moment you turn the key over. The compression on the motor is 165 and it does not leak( no diapers required ) or smoke. I just did a fresh tune up on it and had the oil changed getting it ready for summer. The transmission shifts smoothly as it should and I just had new front calipers and soft lines put on. The rears are at 90%. The tires are Bridgestone " Eager " 195/60/15 with 90%+ tread left on them. The alloy wheels are in nice shape as well as the porche center caps. The suspension up front is good and the rear has been set up with KYB gas adjust so the car sticks nicely on the road. The interior is nice. No cracks in the dash all the gauges work as they should. I just had the seats recovered and the jockey box lid redone. The carpet is in fair shape, no rips or stains but it is beginning to show some wear. The targa top headliner is nice and the visors are ok. The passenger side one likes to come down on its own. The door panels are nice. No speaker holes cut into them and the arm rest are not broken. The material is in good shape. The seals for the targa top have been replaced. The glass is in excellent shape all the way around. Windows go up and down as they should. The heater system is all there. All the duct work is in place and the heat exchangers work fine. The blower assist moter is there but I cant seem to get it going. I did check the fuse but no luck. I have not messed with it. Same goes with the horn. The steering wheel Is an original Racemark w/ Italian leather. The stitching on it is showing wear. It has the porche center cap. The lights work as they should and the headlight motors work as they should. The body is in nice shape except for a few things. 1. Ding in drivers door. It is up high and just in front of the mirror. Very minor and tried to get picture of it, but it does not show. 2. passenger side front fender 1/4 in crack in the paint just where it meets up with the a pillar. 3. rear bumper passenger side up where the pad meets the chrome. The is an area pushed in. I took to my body shop and asked if it could be fixed and he said it would be an easy fix. Than he began to laugh at me and said people will never notice it. I did and I want to make sure who ever gets the car does too. 4. the lower rockers have a couple of dings and some scratches in them. Not sure if I would fix. The new poly ones are nice and much more resistant to road debris.5. The muffler on the drivers side is cracked. It does not leak or suck air. It looks like someone leaned on the chrome tip and cracked it. Okay so with that all being said the only other issue is rust. The car has very little. body is good, pans are good. The hell whole area shows previous repair done to it( I'm assuming it was done during the restore). However it looks like the original batter tray was used and sometime in the future it should be replaced.( Just the tray, the brace looks good) The car is really beautiful and shines up nice. It attracts attention where ever it goes and is a pleasure to drive. Notes also replaced starter plugs points cap rotor condenser PVC valve relay brake lines calipers Front (I kept the factory ones as well) will go with the car pads ( front) Seats redone Please feel free to ask any questions or come and view the car. Buyer is responsible for all shipping cost. I will be happy to help in any way possible. No reserve Thanks for looking and best of luck. I just ordered an electronic ignition system for the car. Should be here mid-week. No more points to deal with. :).
