For auction here is a 1999 ford f250 xl crew cab 2wd, it has the legendary 7.3 powerstroke diesel and auto transmission. I Have driven this truck all up and down the east coast, it has been a VERY good truck. It has new front tires with about 5000 miles on them, rear tires are around half tread, maybe little less. New batteries 6 months ago. New air filter, new fuel filtter, and fresh oil change 3200 miles ago. Transmission rebuilt last year. Trusk is equipped with a tow package and gooseneck hitch and has always pulled great. Last month i took a trip to washington DC and back pulling a trailer, about 100 miles from home the truck started running a little rough and smoking. I took it to my mechanic (certified diesel mechanic), he looked it over and confirmed that an injector was going bad causing the smoke and rough running. It runs and drives, and clears up quite a bit after the truck is warmed up. ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the engine or transmission. Just needs an injector. Suspension is good and tight. Steering is good too. Pulls great, with LOTS of room inside. I have this truck that i use as a work truck and an 05 f250 i use as a daily driver, i have decided to start working my 05 and buy a new one for a daily driver. WIth a little work this truck would make someone a great truck with lots of years of service, again its a work truck and has normal bumps and bruises but overall good clean truck. I dont know for sure Im not a diesel mechanic but a certified mechanic said that was the problem. Will you have it fixed if I pay you? No i dont have the time to mess with it but i can refer you to a mechanic. Will it make it on a 500 mile trip? I dont know but i would not chance it, it is smoking due to the problem more than likely smoke is due to one or more injectors overspraying fuel, therefore it could cause internal engine damage if driven much like that (bent valves, cracked pistons, etc.. ) But if you pay me for the truck its yours so feel free to do with it as you please but i would suggest trailering it or paying me or someone else to deliver it.
