Attention all interested parties, Please make sure you are ready to purchase should you bid on this truck. I should remind you that these 7.3 4x4 Excursions are very well known for being built well, getting great mpg, fantastic towing and family hauling abilities, and most importantly, they were only made for 3.5 model years with what is hands down one of the best engines ever placed under the hood of an American truck. Finding one this clean, with a clean ownership history gets harder every year. This truck needs very little to be perfect. I've personally seen these engines go easily over 500K miles. This Excursion could last for decades and have a very low cost of ownership over that time. In this economy, that's important. It can haul 8 people, their cargo and tow a sizable load in comfort. We may never see vehicles like this again. Absolutely no reserve, highest bidder gets it! No ending the auction early or buy it now price, the highest bidder on Friday April 13th will be the new owner. Thank you! Please read that there is some rust in the inner and outer rockers. It's not to the point of no return but it will need to be addressed at some point. The frame, brake lines, fuel lines, etc etc. are fine. Only the rockers are affected at this point. It has gotten a little worse over the past two years. Hence the no reserve auction, highest bidder gets it. I am listing this for a very good friend of mine. It's a 2000 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 w/ the now famous 7.3 PowerStroke diesel engine. This is a 2 owner Excursion w/ a clean history. My friend bought it off of Ebay in March 2010 and the only reason he is selling it is because he had to get a lower vehicle due to a back injury. When he bought it it had 214,000 one owner miles on it. It now has 251,441 trouble free miles on it. This truck was clearly cared for very well mechanically and cosmetically and it shows. Once my friend acquired it in 2010, he had all of the fluids changed and put new BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires on it. It runs and drives great and has minimal flaws. Exterior All of the paint is original, there are some minor scratches and the hood and roof are getting a little thin. There is some rust in the rocker panels as the truck was from New York. It has tinted windows and VentVisors. A couple of the wheels have some pitting. The headlights are clear and the chrome is shiny. Overall it looks like a new car from 20 ft. away. No big dents or signs of repaint anywhere on it. For the age and mileage, I would rate it a solid 6 out of 10. Interior The drivers seat has some minor wear and the steering wheel needs a cover. He kept a cover on it which wore the leather a bit but a new cover would fix that. The carpet, headliner, door panels are all very nice and clean. It has all available options except for the rear backup sensors. The rear seat is long gone but they are available on Craigslist for about $100. Overall I would rate the interior an 8 out of 10. Mechanical Extremely reliable and well cared for. It needs nothing. The front end is nice and tight, brakes are solid and smooth, engine runs perfect with no warning lights or issues of any kind. It has Warn manual hubs to replace the original Ford vacuum hubs. Since my friend has had it he had the following work performed: New A/C compressor, condensor, accumulator July 2010 New running boards w/ Ford parts April 2010 New Batteries from Wal Mart Feb. 2011 All fluids and transmission serviced 2010 New power steering hoses 2010 New shocks, tires and steering damper 2010 New Starter April 2011 He drove it on a month long vacation in the summer of 2011 across the country to California, Oregon and back without any issues of any kind. I've personally driven it on a 200 mile trip, it is the king of the highway and gets great MPG 14.5 city and about 20 on the highway. The engine is smooth and the original owner must've had the transmission rebuilt at some point, it does seem to have a mild shift kit in it as it shifts firmer than a stock Excursion but not too firm. Mechanically I would rate it a 9 out of 10. Overall This truck is from New York and it does have some minor rust in one rocker and in the fuel tank skid plate. There is no serious rust through or structural rust. Most of it was in the running boards which is why he replaced them. It is 12 years old and it does show wear and tear equivalent to the age and mileage. Here are the only items that will absolutely requre attention soon The door lock actuators are getting very weak, they should all be replaced. There is a heat shield that rattles on occasion which is mostly just annoying. The paint on the hood and roof is getting thin. The serpentine belt has a sqeak. The inner and outer rocker panels are rusted, they will need to be replaced at some point in the future. I would rate this truck an 8 of 10 overall. It has been a great truck for my friend and has had very little cost of ownership. It's got a clean ownership history with only two owners and it's black, which many tell me is the best color.
