You are bidding on a very nice but used 1955 Ford Thunderbird in the 2 Door 2 Seat Detachable Fiberglass Convertible Hardtop configuration. The 292 cubic inch V8 engine was just tuned up the past week and purrs like a kitten. Some other details: Twin exhausts Automatic tranny The cars two previous owners had it sitting in Colorado for 5 years and about a dozen in Southern California. The car has been in fairly dry climates and it there does not appear to have any major rust issues. Most rust seems to be underneath surface on some iron. There is some paint bubbling, (check out the photos, but it looks to me as if it was a reaction between the laquer and enamel paints which is fairly common). This car was restored during the early 1990's by a gentlemen who has since passed on. It was not a high end frame off restoration but instead a decent rotisserie job. There is some over-spray here and there and some sanding scratches in a couple of places but overall this car shows well. Most of the cars options work. The AM radio takes a minute to warm up but works fine. The tach is fairly accurate. The power seat functions normally. The turn signals, headlamps and tail lights work. The clock does not seem to work and I have not been able to get the blower motor to work. This is a 6 volt system. The car goes into gear just fine and just had a brake job on the drums. Disc were not around for this early model car. There are some small paint chips, so please look over the photos carefully. The bumpers polished up nicely, however there is some pitting in the trim and along some of the chrome. The tires all appear to be in serviceable condition. I have included a new ignition switch with the car but I have not installed it. Some of the seals appear to be a bit on the dry side. Just replaced the two valve cover gaskets. There are a couple of small holes in the headliner on the driver's side.
