Vehicle Detail
I have a 97 trans am that I am wanting to sell.I have done alot of work on this T.A. In the last 6 months I have put alot of money and time into it. I don't need to sell it but I would like to start another project. F.I 350 auto,ps,pw,pl,pb,ac, t-tops Here is a list of all new parts that I have installed It origanally had a series 2 auburn posi 2:73 gear in the rear axle. I put a new series 3 auburn posi unit with a Richmond 3:23 ring and pinion set-up. All new koyo master bearing kit that included pinion bearing, carrier bearings, axle bearings, all new races through out the rear axle, and all new seals through out as well. I took out the original rear lower control arms and panhard bar and replaced those with a hi-performance Tubular lower control arms and panhard bar from Founders Performance that has urathane bushings through out the hole set-up. I also put new springs in the rear from a 02 trans am WS6 with 28k on them. That gives it a little stiffer set-up.I also put new shocks on the rear as well KYB-GR2. I put a new 23mm rear sway bar on with urathane bushings too. New urathane end link bushing kit as well. There is a very lite whine in the rear end. The tranny has been rebuilt at some point. I took the pan off along with the valve body to see if there was any wear and I could tell that it had been taken apart at some point. The car shifts like it has a shift kit in it but there was no shift kit in it when I took it apart. My only guess is that at some point and time it had been rebuilt because it has a new Torque Converter in it as well. Tranny was flushed and new oil and filter put in. It shifts very well. Better than when it came out from factory. Very firm shift. It will kick your head back when it shifts.I put new seals in front and rear of the tranny as well. Now for the front. I took out the upper and lower control arms, struts, inner and outer tie rods, upper and lower ball joints and replaced them all with MOOG replacement parts. All control arm bushings were replaced, inner and outer tie rods, and the upper and lower ball joints. The struts are a set of gabriel G-Force performance struts along with a set of springs from a 02 TA WS6 the originals were a little weak so they were replaced. The front and rear springs have about 28k on them so their like new. I put new urathane bushings on the front sway bar along with the end links they are also urathane. I took out the original air induction system and replaced it with a K-N cold air intake system that gives it about and extra 12-18 HP. Has very good oil pressure Does not get hot,no check engine light. Everything is in good working condition. The cats have been removed at one point and replaced with straight pipes. It has a 3" exhaust system with a forty series flowmaster muffler. SOUNDS FANTASTIC. It DOES NOT burn any oil but it does have a power steering leak in one of the lines but I have the parts to fix and that goes with the car. It will need an alighnment since the all the front end parts were replaced. The body is straight and the paint looks good. There is some paint chips on the front bumper where the license plate goes, but very little.A few other little chips here and there but you can't tell unless your up close. The interior is in pretty good shape as well. No rips or stains on the seats. The dash pad has a crack by one of the vents but not a biggy. The rear hatch struts are weak and they will need replaced at some time. It has a JVC cd player in it along with some huge amp that is not hooked up right now but it does work.I unhooked it. It also has 3 10" speakers that are enclosed in a box that goes with the car. There is also a set of orange neon lights that do work but I never used them. They do look kinda cool at night. With the gear swap and all the other work that has been done this TA has a massive amount of torque and flat out HALL ASS!!! They came from the factory with 345lbs of torque and 300 HP. I know with all the upgrades it has increased both of those, not to mention the weight loss that goes along with the upgrades. I think that about sums it up. I still drive the Trans Am so miles will add up a little. I have alot of reciepts that go with the car and most of those are for life time replacement. On Mar-25-12 at 08:21:45 PDT, seller added the following information: THE SPEAKER BOX AND AMP ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE WITH CAR BECAUSE THEY WERE STOLEN FROM MY GARAGE LAST NIGHT.
