Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a SUPER nice all original 1979 Chevy Beauville G20 van. If you are looking for something reliable that has the power to pull a trailer or motor home, or just a vehicle with lots of room inside this is it. This van is just about as nice as it gets especially for a vehicle thats 33 years old! I bought this off an older gentleman, that had been a good friend of our family for over 50 years. He bought this van I believe in the early 80's from a dealership in his home town and it had hardly any miles at that time. The only purpose this van has served since then was taking him on vacation trips with his little single axle trailer usually behind. This was NOT a daily driver, maybe taken out 3-4 times per summer on trips. It has also NEVER been stored outside. Since the early 80's the only place it has been stored has been in a heated 2 car garage. He was an extremely maticulous man who did everything and maintained everything he owned and kept it immaculate. If this van needed something it was never left, like I said, he kept excellent care of this van, he probably cleaned it more than he drove it. It has 80,380 original miles PERIOD. Everything on this van is stock and in great shape. The ONLY rust I have been able to find is a spot about the size of a pea right by the back door hinge. Other than that this van is rust free and it looks just as good underneath!! There are two very minor interior flaws, one is a small patch on the door, and he even went to the trouble of patching it with original material he probably ordered. The other is a small rip in the lining I guess you call it, right above the passenger seat that he glued so it wouldnt rip further. Those are the only two issues on the inside if you can even call them that. This van has basically brand new TIGER PAW top of the line tires with probably less than 3 or 400 miles on them. It also has a new radiator and he even went to the trouble of putting a screen in front of it to keep the bugs out, another thing that shows just how maticulous he was and how well he took care of it. This van has stock A/C which has been professionally serviced lately and it blows arctic cold air! Heat works great as well, it will cook you right out. Transmission shifts great and this van rides smooth. It also has the stock radio which works great and even has probably the earliest form of preset buttons! haha. Speakers have great sound. There are light bulbs, fuses, etc in the campartment he put in there for the van. Original carpeting is EXCELLENT with no rips, tears, stains or wear even really. Has tilt steering wheel and cruise control and wipers and fluid work great as well. Only thing on the dash that doesn't work is the clock, I don't think it works but it may just be a fuse. Horn works great. Brakes are right there, theres no slop or play they start braking as soon as you hit it and they brake great, nice and smooth. The bench seats are pretty much flawless, because he never used them. They were stored in his house for the last 30-40 years covered up. All chrome is very nice with none missing. This van comes with more than 3/4 of a tank of gas which is alot. This van is a G20 which means its a 3/4 ton, it also has a smooth running 350 V8 and the total weight of the van is 4709 lbs according to title. The engine has a VERY slight lifter tick which you can barely hear and it doesn't hurt a thing. All doors, windows, latches, and locks work excellent. All lights work, dims and brights, all blinkers, flashers, etc. To activate the brights you push the button on the floor, with your foot. Both passenger and drivers seats recline. All in all, this is about as good as they get honestly. This is showroom quality and ready to drive. I would trust this van on a cross country trip without hesitation. Hard to find vehicles where the previous owner took such great care of the vehicle. You WON'T be dissapointed in this one. Deposit of $500 required within 7 days of end date. Full payment has to be payed within 2 weeks, no longer. I can hold the vehicle for one month, if you need it to sit here longer thats fine but there will be a storage fee. The van is in a car garage where it will stay until new owner picks it up. Don't pass up this great opportunity at a great van! Feel free to ask questions. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!!On Mar-17-12 at 19:53:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I meant to say the seats have been in storage and not used for 20 or so years, obviously not 30-40 like I said in the description, sorry about that.On Mar-17-12 at 20:08:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Also forgot to mention this van comes with the nice step stool you see in the back, he made that so he could step up into the back easily. It's a very nice, varnished oak stool he made himself. On Mar-18-12 at 07:45:31 PDT, seller added the following information: If you would like more pictures of the van go here. I reached my limit for ebay so just go here for more. Thanks! http://s1060.photobucket.com/albums/t458/vanphotos2/On Mar-18-12 at 18:28:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Just remembered one more thing, the entire underside of this van has been professionally coated, very similar to a spray in bed liner (very expensive to have done) So you won't ever have to worry about rust starting underneath. It was done years ago, probably in the 80's, professionally. The underside of this van looks just as good as the rest, SUPER clean. On Mar-22-12 at 09:16:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I was just asked if there is any rear end howl when driving. I don't think there is, but there is a very slight hum I guess, you really can't even hear it after you get past 35-40 I think it's just a very minor tire hum, but I'm not a mechanic so I can't say for sure. Regardless, it's NOT an issue but I wanted to mention it since somebody asked. Van rides great, and tranny shifts nice and smooth. On Mar-22-12 at 14:59:45 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION potential bidders. I have been told that rear end noise is common in older chevys like this. I am in no way mechanically minded with vehicles so I can't tell you for sure if there is or not, There is a slight hum when takin off, I always figured to be a tire hum, like the above post you can't even hear it when you get going a little faster but I guess there is a remote chance it is the rear end making the noise. Van takes off smooth with no rumbling or anything like that, van drives and shifts great like said before. Regardless, I just don't want any unhappy campers so I wanted to mention it. On Mar-22-12 at 17:24:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove the van down the road tonight and in my honest opinion all it is is a very suttle tire hum that completely goes away after 25-30. I honestly don't think there is a thing wrong with anything. Thanks for all the questions and interest.
