a 1976 Mercedes 450 SL roadster. Car was parked in 2002 because of an oil leak. about 3 months ago I decided I was going to get it going again and fix the leak ( I just came into the picture 1 year ago) Car would not start. I drained the fuel, (Mineral spirits I think) and put new fuel in, then had to buy and install a new fuel pump. I am NOT a mercedes mechanic so I found one to come look at it, He removed and cleaned the fuel distribution block, and brought it back. I installed the fuel dist. and tried again, it is getting fuel to the dist. and will run darned good IF you pour a little gas down the butterfly. but will NOT run on it's own. I give up. The car is in fairly decent shape. One small dent on the pass side corner back.does need some work. it does have the re moveable hardtop, As I said the car will run, and if you can figure out why the fuel inj will not work it would be an excellent running toy. It WAS running great according to the owner and was parked only because of the oil leak, I have determined that the oil pan has a crack on the bottom, probably ran over a rock, another Good Pan is included in this sale. shipping will be the purchasers responsibility.
