I will NOT bore you with all the stats and history of this classic 1992 Mercedes Benz 500E. If you are looking at my listing you probably know the back ground of Mercedes and Porsche when they produced this car. If you don’t, I strongly suggest to Google this car for more infos. I bought this car from Mercedes Benz in Haverhill Ma back in October 2011 while in Boston for business, with about 127,xxx miles on it. The color combination is absolutely stunning (Charcoal grey/black over Palomino leather). I than drove it to Virginia where I reside, a trip of about 600 miles, and the car performed unbelievably (without counting all the thumbs up I got along the way). I was told that the previous owner had done some of the mechanical upkeep, and had the following done (which was confirmed prior of my purchase at the Mercedes dealer pre-delivery pickup) : . All belts under the hood were replaced . Engine harness was replaced. . Battery was replaced. . Tensioner replaced. . Cooling system hoses replaced . Water pump and thermostat changed . Rotors and brake pads replaced This 1992 Mercedes 500E (First generation, and the most sought after model, since it has more horse power than the later models) is absolutely stunning in every way possible. The color combination is stunning, the factory options that it has are very RARE (factory installed electric rear sunshade that works, factory collapsing rear head rest in working condition, and factory installed cell phone system that is disconnected but everything is still installed as it came from the factory). Under my ownership since October 2011 and less than 2500 miles, I had done some tasteful upgrades to satisfy my middle life crisis (as my wife puts it), performed some mechanical maintenance, and they are as follow: . Purchased new set of 18’AMG replica 5 spoke wheels, and mounted a set of Goodyear tires on them. . Painted all the brake calipers red and added the “Brembo” stickers on the front ones. . Replaced the front orange turn signals with the Euro smoked signals (have the originals if you want them). . Replaced the rear stop light covers with the Euro smoked ones (have the originals if you want them). . Replaced the 4 tires stem valves caps with the AMG black caps. . Replaced the factory radio with a Kenwood cd/Ipod/sat/cd/usb deck (have the original radio). . Installed a high end Kenwood amplifier in the trunk. . Replaced all the factory speakers with the high end Infinity Kappa speakers (have the factory speakers), and if you into the Rolling Stones, Andrea Bocelli, or any other music, you will be enjoying every second of your ride. . Replaced the rear hydraulic shock. . Replaced rear strut . Replaced the breather hose . Replaced the valve cover gaskets . Had an oil change with Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W40 (less than 200 miles) And the list goes on and on. This car is probably a strong 9 out of 10, for a 20 years old car, and they do not come for sale in this condition very often, the pictures speak for themselves. Everything works perfectly, except for the reading light bulb (in the rear seat, driver side) is blown, and I hope I will have it fixed prior of the sale. All the mechanical work listed above under my ownership is under warranty for 1 year or 12000 miles by Auto Haus of Yorktown VA who performed the work on 10/28/11 and at 128457 miles (that is less then 2K miles). The engine is powerful and run smoothly. The transmission shifts properly thru all the gears. The paint is in excelent condition and very shiny. The interieur is in excellent contion. The AC and heat are both working properly thru all the settings. The locking system for all the doors and trunk are opening and closing with out any issues. All the windows switches operates properly, the heated front seats works great in both the low and high setting, and even the head rest for both the driver and the passenger seats goes up and down perfectly. The sun roof opens and closes with out any issue. The factory electric sunshade also goes up and down with out any hesitation, and the 2 rear seats head rests collapse with the push of a button. This 1992 MB 500E drives and perform as it should be, and if it goes to a good home and get serviced properly, it will last another 300K miles very easily. The style, design and history behind this Mercedes Benz W124 will remain a classic for ever. Please check my 100% EBay score since 2001, look at the Autocheck score, and please remember that this is a used vehicle (about 20 years old, so expect some wear and tear) and remember, it is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with NO warranty expressed or implied. Please expect some extra miles as this car will be driven occasionally until sold. I have all the books, a clean and clear title with out any lien in hand and 2 keys for this car. The only reason why I am selling this car is because I just purchased the Mercedes 560sec wide body AMG that was on EBay a few weeks ago from a car collector in FT. Lauderdale, Florida. I also own a Euro 86 dinan BMW M6, a BMW E30 M3 convertible, a 300ce wide body, and a 300sel with the 6.3 engine for a few years now. I just purchased the 500E in October, and when I decided to sell one of them, I guess I went with the one I am less attached too. I will not hesitate to drive this 500E across the country period.
