With all the vintage high priced Indian motorcycles locked away in private garages and on display in museums, here's an excellent opportunity to get that look back on the street. In my opinion, it really would be great to see more of these style of bikes back on the road. It really blows people's minds when they see it. 1982 Honda Ascot. Looking good from wheel to wheel. Running new scrambler-type tires. All bike's paintwork done with Omni Urethane. Tank and fender has a protective clear coat. Graphics done by Marina Rayla Graphics out of Puerto Rico. Also customized with clip-on style drag bars and quarter-turn throttle on the right with Drag Specialties white-face mini speedo. All cables were bared and lubed for a vintage-era look. Small headlight is bobber style with high/low beam and yellow lens. Taking care of the petrol is an early 70s Asian tank. From there, solo seat is new. Purchased from Sin City Cycles. Running on the rear is a Kawasaki Vulcan front fender. Shocks are stock with new aftermarket progressive springs. Taking care of the motor's music is a polished Super Trapp. Also putting the power down is taken care of by a new black chrome Tusanki chain. Carb is running a Uni 4-inch filter. Also running a Spectre crank case filter. Taking care of the cranking chores is a new high-output sealed battery. Really, there's just a lot going on here. Bike is running very good. Shifts out good. Has impressive acceleration. Please view the video. I'm taking my time going around the bike slowly, and at the end I start it and let it run. Usually starts fine, but I have gotten into forums and it seems to be part of owning an Ascot that sometimes the starter will not catch. Mine has done it a few times, however, it did not do it in the video. Usually it's about the time you have forgotten about it that it will do it again. Other than that, just a very cool looking bike. Seems to draw a lot of local attention, as you will note in the gallery pic. For a video, please click here: http://youtu.be/j1g4kcb0b8U When you click on the video link above, look at the top of the screen. There is a small box that says 34 videos. Click there, then there will be another box that says Play All. Click on that and it will take you to the stream of videos and it should play them all in succession. These are just a few. I have hundreds of videos of motorcycles I have built. Some crazy builds for the drag strip or the dirt, some very cool for the street. These are just a few. A little about me. . . I graduated from a motorcycle tech school in 1976. That's a looong time ago. Used to live close to Daytona. Got a lot of inspiration at the old bike weeks. Met some cool people there back then. Used to have a customizing shop in Florida. It was a lot of fun, but everyone was always wanting to visit and it was very hard to get any work done. Since I moved to El Paso, I stay to myself. I really appreciate the silence. I focus on one build at a time, and then I choose the best venue so the bike can be seen. It all gels into part of the plan of gaining experience over the years which, by no means is a pat on the back. It just upsets this old-timer to see some of the garbage being listed. Some of this stuff barely runs. Once item is paid for, will be glad to give buyer up to 60 days to arrange pick-up. Bike will be stored indoors.
