Vehicle Detail
I bought this vehicle to use as a errand runner but I really need a pickup truck instead. I bought it from a friend who is a professional mechanic/machinist. I've known this truck for 12 years. His ex bought it many years ago and he got it when they split, it's two owner from brand new. No rust or accidents that I'm aware of. There is a video presentation including the engine running here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5EMyJCwzok I will walk around this truck and describe it as I see it. Exterior This is a very presentable 4Runner, it has some dents and dings and some clearcoat flaking. Has all factory chrome mirrors, door handles, grill, etc. Brand new tires, the wheels and center caps are nearly perfect. The paint on the top is faded a bit. Has a trailer hitch. The chrome trim around the windshield is missing as it was somehow damaged in a car wash. Overall I would rate the exterior a 7 out of 10 Interior Has brand new rear carpet. The seats are nice with some wear on the drivers seat. It currently has very nice seat covers. The dash has been covered since new with a dash mat. The drivers door panel has some wear and overall it could use a detailing but it's one of the nicer 4Runner interiors I've seen. The drivers door lock key cylinder is not working but the power locks work fine, as do the power windows, etc. It even has the original sunroof liner! All gauges work. I would rate it a 7 of 10 Mechanically It has a code set for the knock sensor, which is probably the wiring harness, it's a known problem on these trucks. It also overheats after about 20 minutes of driving. I'm pretty sure the water pump is shot. I don't suspect the head gaskets are blown, they were done about a year ago. It does run and it drives great but it I haven't pushed it. The transmission, 4x4 system, brakes and all other systems work perfect. The AC has a freon leak but it does hold for several weeks. It does need these mechanical repairs before it can be used as a daily driver. I would rate it a 5 of 10. Overall This is a true survivor 4Runner, 100% rust free with good ownership history. It has been well kept through the years and the mechanical problems started over the past few weeks. The top has never been removed from this, it was used as a daily driver for the past 24 years locally here in Florida. This truck needs very little to worth quite a bit of money. They are becoming quite collectible and to find one that is all stock and not rotted out is a rarity these days. I hate to part with it but I just don't have the time it needs as I have a lot of work that requires a pickup truck. If you have any questions, please call Jason at 941-720-0300.
