Vehicle Detail

Classic 1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible up for auction with NO RESERVE. 98k on car, under 16k on drivetrain. Original V12 replaced in 2007 with new GM 350 V8 and 350 Turbomatic transmission adapted with a "John's Cars" of Texas conversion kit. ($4500 in parts and labor). Conversion done professionally, lots of power, Jag runs like new. Approximately 16k on the new engine and transmission. Recent shocks, brakes (not cheap on these cars, lots of labor) and Pirelli tires. Convertible top replaced in 2009 with premium canvas top with glass back window with defroster, inner pads and headliner, new weatherstripping on windshield pillars and on convertible top. Remarkably quiet inside the car on the highway when top is up and windows are closed. Top goes up easily along with rear quarter windows automatically. Both seats reupholstered at the same time with genuine Jaguar seat skins and new padding, seats are cushy and comfortable. Boot cover in black to cover top when down included. Nice Sony stereo with Ipod control and remote and three ignition keys. The cruise control does not work and the a/c is set up for modern freon but needs a charge. The paint still shines up well but could use a repaint in the near future. Classic insurance for the Jaguar is only $190 a year, full comprehensive. Engine starts easily, cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly with a velvety feel to the suspension. Runs very strong, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. All directional/brake/turn signal/headlights and horn work. Shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like a European roadster should. Always garaged, the Jag is clean undearneath; floors and trunk completely solid, does not even show surface rust. We just had a baby and we don't drive it nearly enough. Always gets compliments whenever we take it out. Fun to drive and will only appreciate in value. 914-224-3230 convertable, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992On Mar-22-12 at 12:10:33 PDT, seller added the following information: As I mentioned, the drivetrain conversion was done with a "John's Cars" of Texas conversion kit. You can see details of the kit here: http://www.brokenkitty.com/xj/xjv8.htm The only thing they didn't do was the fuel venting system so I got the necessary parts from Jaguar and had them installed (it cost over $700 in parts and labor, I should have mentioned that in the listing). Everything is hooked up properly, all the gauges work including gas, oil, battery, temp, tach, speedometer. The engine mounts are very solid, no "thump" from the motor when you put the car in gear. My mechanic has seen some of these Jag conversions over the years and was pretty impressed with how well done mine was. Good luck bidding!
