1986 Honda Gold Wing

Up for your consideration is a 1986 Honda Gold Wing Interstate. This Gold wing only has 42,329 miles on it, which is very low for the year as well as quite low for any Gold Wing as most riders know. The paint is black and has a few scuffs here and there that will be cleared up with a little elbow grease on a sunny weekend morning. The right saddlebag cover has been repainted in what was probably caused by slipping off the seat onto the ground. They do make tether strings that prevent that from happening. Oh well, Too late. The paint on the cover hides what scratches are on it but in the right light, you can tell the cover has been repainted. The travel trunk hinge tab has also been damaged but still is functional. The cover for the left speaker is missing. The Kenwood Stereo works. It's not like the systems on the new Gold Wings, but it does give you something to listen to while the miles pass by. This bike has a nice set of Highway Boards mounted to the engine guards allowing you to stretch out on those longer rides as well as Chrome Tipped Foam Grips which takes out a lot of the vibration of hour after hour riding. The grips could use a little glue since they were not put on correctly. The bike has running lamps which I'm not sure how to turn on or if they even work. But at least the headlight works. The windshield was replaced and seems to be in quite good condition but there is a small rip in the stitching of the riders seat as well as the top of the Passenger Backrest. The seat seems to be faded and worn from time in the saddle, which could be cleaned up with a little leather conditioner. The unit does run pretty well as you would expect any older Gold Wing to. The tires seem to be in nice condition but the rubber pads off the heal/toe shifter are missing. On our full mock-up Trade-in Evaluation our Honda trained technician found the rear brake switch to be inoperable. The Honda part # is 35350-KA2-405 and retails for $12.99 The hydraulic clutch could stand to be bled, if not flushed with new fluid and the right rear saddlebag lens has a crack in it.
