Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a very clean classic 1971 GMC SuperCustom 1500 truck. THE GOOD: The entire body was completely smoothed out and repainted in the classic yellow and white. Interior of engine compartment and interior of cab were also painted new. Gas tank fill was relocated to inside the bed and the old large 'ugly' mirrors also were removed during the body work and paint process. Except for the edelbrock intake and carburator, the 350 engine and 3 speed transmission are at an original 89,500 miles (what I was told) and have not been further modified. Truck bed has new roll on type bed liner to protect it and make it usefull. Interior has been kept "classic" and has not been modified with anything. Original knobs were kept and used on the existing 'cheap stereo' that is in it, and the stereo dash/compartment HAS NOT modified at all (I've heard alot of these have been cut up to fit new stereos). The interior has a new dash cover, new gauge face panel and new bench seat. Carpet was probably new but shows a some wear. Truck was used for mature casual driving and NOT raced. Engine runs great. Tires are OK and have a couple summers left in them. THE KINDA SORTA NOT SO GOOD: I bought this truck from a gentleman who owned classic vehicles and this was his classic 'working' truck, as in it was not stored on a show room floor forever, he actually drove it. From my approximation the new body/paint and interior was all done then used for a couple years. The body is very nice with no dents and paint looks amazing but there ARE some small touch ups here and there which appear normal for a couple years use. The tail gate top does have a small dent or two with some touch up paint. It has an oil leak so I had a local mechanic check it out and he said would be about $450 to change out all the gaskets/seals and it would be good as new. Power brakes work good but may or may not need any work (I have not checked them). I am sad to sell this beauty but my daughter will be heading to college fairly soon and I need the financial help to get her there. I also have 2 videos on U-Tube for this truck. Please check them out at http://youtu.be/3yAvIGd5qGs and http://youtu.be/JkgMrByRq4E Please contact me with any questions BEFORE you bid. If you are a serious bidder, I am willing to send you more pictures or videos. This is an AS IS purchase so if you have someone to come and look at this for you, PLEASE DO.
