Vehicle Detail
1967 Camaro built to drag race and was raced for a few years including the 85 Winternationals in Super Gas, and raced in the Southern California pro gas circuit. It was pulled of the street around 1976 or so and has been off the street ever sinse. The car is super straight, never any accidents, and no rust. It was originally a RS 327 4 speed muncie car. It was built by a well known in the local area drag race car builder, who in fact at one point built a vega wagon that won the NHRA super gas champonship. It still has some of the original stickers on the plexi-glass windows. This car ran a best of 9.53 back in the day. It has not been raced for many years appx 20. Just being stored indoors, in the Ca desert. Its has a 1 piece glass front end, that tilts foward and lifts off for easy access. Also glass doors, plexuglass windows, and lightened pin on trunk lid. Dana 60 rear end with 4:88 gears and spool. Centerlines, 14/32 rear goodyear drag slicks, the car is not cut up at all, there is a removable floor tunnel with dzus fasteners for the transmission tunnel inside, still has the original dash and headliner, and oil, water, etc guages,in a aluminum insert in the dash, as well as togle switches for the ignition, starter, etc. and a sun super tach from the era. Car weighs 2450 with big block and turbo 400 trans, this car has had many engines during its racing life, the last being a big block 427 . That motor is long gone. Car also has mini tubs, a 2 gallon fuel tank in the trunk, 1 fiberglass seat, , black carpeting inside, a clean car. This car has won many races, and I hate to part with it, but its time. BTW all the lettering is original, the car was called "Bad Smoke", and the trunk has a really neat painted on thing with an old man with a beard that says "just passin' thru" I still talk to people who remember thi car when it raced. I have the guy who built the car's phone number. Current motor is a fresh 408 inch big block, originally a 1969 396/375 HP L78 motor. It has 20 minutes run in time on the motor. 4 bolt mains, 427 super stock Velasco crank, 7/16 *real* L88 full floating rods, 12.5 Arias pistons, clay smith solid lifter cam 990 square port heads with full competition porting, Weiand team G intake, 850 holley, competition headers, I am sure I am forgwetting some things. Trans is a turbo 400, fresh. Please call with any questions you may have on this. Bill 714 865 1909. I will help with shipping arrangements if necessary, pick up of course is fine.
