1966 FORD THUNDERBIRD ROCK BOTTOM STARTING PRICE SO BID ALREADY AND YOU OWN IT Note: The Car was "SOLD" but now I am relisting due to the "original" highest bidder defaulting, as quoted here: "Hi sorry for the inconvenience but we were bidding on another car also and won that one, and can't afford to pay for this one, it sounds like a great deal for the motor but we will not be able to pay for the car sorry about the whole thing".....end quote. And so, here's another Chance at this great deal. I AM SELLING THE ENTIRE CAR, ALTHOUGH THE MAIN FEATURE IS THE COMPLETELY REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED 390 CU IN ENGINE Cylinders, Pistons, Crankshaft, etc. COMPLETELY REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED CYLINDER HEADS Valves, Seats,Guides, etc. COMPLETELY REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED 4B CARBURETOR ENGINE AND CARBURETOR ARE ESSENTIALLY EQIVALENT TO A BRAND NEW ENGINE AND CARBURETOR. NOTE: THIS REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED ENGINE IS NOW CAPABLE OF BURNING "UNLEADED" FUEL/GASOLINE. THIS ENGINE BY ITSELF OUTSIDE OF THIS VERY HEAVY CAR IS A REAL MUSCLE CAR ENGINE WITH HIGH OUTPUT AND HIGH HORSEPOWER THE REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED ENGINE IS WHERE THE TRUE VALUE RELIES IN THIS VEHICLE. I PAID OVER $4000.00 TO MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE TO HAVE JUST THE 390 V8 ENGINE REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED. I AM STARTING THE BIDDING (FOR THE ENTIRE CAR) AT HALF OF WHAT I PAID TO HAVE THE ENGINE REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED. REFERENCE THE MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE INVOICES, (PICTURES 18 AND 19). TOTAL, I PAID MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE OVER $6000.00 FOR THE ENGINE REBUILD/REMANUFACTURE, THE FUEL TANK/FUEL SYSTEM WORK AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM WORK. REFERENCE THE MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE INVOICES. (PICTURES 18, 19, 20, and 21). APPROXIMATELY LESS THAN 25 MILES ON ENGINE REBUILD/REMANUFACTURE. I truely believe that for the right person, that my rock bottom "starting price" of $1500.00 is one great deal. Note: Most of the work performed on the car by Morisette Automotive was done in 2004 as noted on the invoices (pictures 18, 19, 20, and 21). A significant reason for me selling the car is that the car is very costly to upkeep and has been undergoing continuous mechanical storage upkeep such as winterization of the engine each year, and 3 to 4 times a year the following: oil and filter change(s), draining and refilling of the gas tank, and running of the engine to maintain mechanical soundness of the rebulit/remanufactured engine while the car is in storage. The engine is run long enough to lubricate the internal mechanical components, although as I say elswhere, the rebuilt/remanufactured engine has approximately less than 25 miles of driving on it and as such, is still in a Brand New condition. IT WAS NOTED BY ONE OF THE Ebay VIEWERS THAT THE MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE INVOICES (PICTURES 18, 19, 20 AND 21) STATE THAT THE ENGINE IS A 3.O L. THIS A TYPO MISTAKE ON THE PART OF MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE (THAT CAN BE VERIFIED WITH THEM, IF YOU WANT TOO). THE ENGINE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES IS DEFINATELY A 390 CU IN V8 ENGINE WITH A 4B CARBURETOR. THIS ENGINE IS A REAL HORSEPOWER MUSCLE MACHINE. IN A FORD GALAXY OR OTHER LIGHT WEIGHT VEHICLE, THIS ENGINE WOULD BE A "ROCKET" HORSEPOWER PRODUCER. TAKE A BREATH AND BID ALREADY, IF THIS ONE GETS AWAY, YOU KNOW YOUR GOING TO KICK YOURSELF NEXT WEEK. THIS TYPE OF FORD V8 ENGINE CAN BE USED IN SEVERAL FORD VEHICLE TYPES OVER A SEVERAL YEAR PERIOD, IT IS NOT LIMITED TO USAGE IN JUST A FORD THUNDERBIRD. THUS REMOVING IT AND PLACING IT INTO ANOTHER TYPE OF FORD VEHICLE IS EASY AND PRACTICAL. A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR BODY CONDITION (WHICH IS GOOD, YOUR INTERESTED): I HAD A LOCAL BODY SHOP (THAT SPECIALIZES IN VINTAGE CAR RESTORATION) QUOTE A COMPLETE BODY RESTORATION, THERE QUOTE WAS $11000.00 FOR A COMPLETE BODY RESTORATION. I THINK IF YOU CAN DO MOST OF THE WORK YOURSELF AS A RESTORATION PROJECT (LABOR OF LOVE) ON THE CARS BODY THEN YOU WOULD ACCEPT THE EXTENSIVE RUST. OTHERWISE ULTILIZING THE 390 V8 REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED ENGINE FOR ANOTHER CAR AND SELL THIS CAR (IN THE LISTING) FOR PARTS MIGHT BE A BETTER ROUTE. THE CAR BODY PAINT HAS NUMEROUS DEEP SCRATCHES ON IT. THE BLACK LANDAU ROOF IS IN POOR CONDITION WITH ONE AREA ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE WITH A KNIFE -LIKE (STAR SHAPED) TEAR. THE CARS BRAKES CHECKED OUT OK, ALTHOUGH, THE POWER BOOST IS INOPERABLE. THUS WITH NO POWER BRAKES, THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE AS IT IS. THE CAR HAS A REMANUFACTURED FUEL TANK AND FUEL LINES. MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE "SCANNED" INVOICES OF WORK COMPLETED ARE INCLUDED IN THE PICTURES TO VERIFY THAT WORK WAS DONE AS STATED. THE MANAGER OF MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE IS WILLING TO VERIFY WORK DONE VIA TELEPHONE OR IN-PERSON. THIS CAR WAS MY DAD'S CAR WHICH I INHERITED, MY INITIAL INTENTION WAS TO COMPLETELY RESTORE THE CAR, BOTH MECHANICALLY AND BODY RESTORATION. DUE TO HARD ECONOMIC TIMES I HAVE HAD TO ABORT THE PROJECT AND THUS I AM SELLING THE CAR WHILE IT STILL HAS VALUE. ESPECIALLY THE COMPLETELY REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED 390 V8 4B CARB ENGINE. IT IS ALSO THE CAR I LEARNED TO DRIVE WITH AND PASSED MY DRIVERS TEST WITH AT 16 YEARS OLD, TODAY I AM 54 YEARS OLD. SO, YES THERE IS SOME SENTIMENTAL VALUE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAR, ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP IT. MORE INFORMATION THE COMPLETELY REBUILT/REMANUFACTURED ENGINE IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS CAR. MOST OF THE REST OF THE CAR IS EITHER HIGH MILEAGE OR IN POOR TO MODERATE CONDITION. I PAID MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE AN ADDITIONAL $1111.04 FOR FUEL TANK AND FUEL SYSTEM WORK. REFERENCE MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE INVOICE, PICTURE NUMBER 20. I PAID MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE AN ADDITIONAL $833.48 FOR BRAKE SYSTEM WORK. REFERENCE MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE INVOICE, PICTURE NUMBER 21. TOTAL, I PAID MORISETTE AUTOMOTIVE OVER $6000.00 FOR THE ENGINE REBUILD/REMANUFACTURE, THE FUEL TANK/FUEL SYSTEM WORK AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM WORK. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OPERATES AND SHIFTS CORRECTLY. ALTHOUGH, IT HAS 105,000 MILES ON IT. THE OUTSIDE BODY IS VERY RUSTED AND UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE THE CAR A RESTORATION PROJEST WHERE YOU DO MOST OF THE BODY WORK YOURSELF, IT IS MOST LIKELY NOT COST FEASIBLE TO REPAIR THE BODY BACK TO FACTORY CONDITION. I AM TALKING LITERALLY 1000'S OF DOLLARS OR BODY RESTORATION WORK, AND THATS BEFORE A NEW PAINT JOB. THE INTERIOR IS ALSO IN A HIGH MILEAGE CONDITION IN MODERATE TO POOR CONDITION. IF YOU CAN RESTORE THE INTERIOR YOURSELF, IT PROBABLY HAS LESS WORK TO RESTORE THAN THE BODY. ADDITIONALLY, THE TIRES ARE IN POOR CONDITION AND A COUPLE HAVE SLOW LEAKS. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR VENT WINDOW IS BROKEN OUT. THERE IS NOT A COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM ON CAR. ESSENTIALLY, AS STATED EARILIER I AM SELLING THE CAR FOR THE COMPLETLY REBILT/REMANUFACTURED ENGINE AND CARBURATOR. IF YOU ARE BUYING THE CAR FOR THE ENGINE, YOU COULD SELL MUCH OF THE REST OF THE CAR FOR PARTS, IT MAY EVEN BE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR THE AMOUNT THAT YOU PAID FOR THE ENTIRE CAR?
