1972 Honda CL

***Attention Collectors*** For sale is this really sweet 1972 Honda, CL175. Although this bike isn’t perfect, its not far from it and is a very nice example of Honda Motorcycle history. This bike has evidently been stored indoors all of it’s life as ALL of the chrome on this bike is beautiful as seen in the pictures, I could see no pitting or rust anywhere. The engine case is very clean and not all stained up like you see in a lot of these old bikes. The seat has a very small tear right along the bottom of the non-exhaust side. The chrome exhaust pipe on this bike is in great shape as you can see in the photo’s as well. I bought this bike from a college kid who had burned the points out in it and didn’t know how to fix it. He put the bike in storage where it somehow got knocked over causing the signal light and odometer encasement to be broken and the shifter to get bent. I bought the bike “as is”, put a set of points in it, and it started on the third kick. I straightened out the shifter and odometer encasement which was slightly bent, the glass is missing from this and will need replaced. However, the odometer and tachometer both work. The horn works and the backlight for the tachometer works as well. The headlights and signals do not currently work but probably will with little effort. The bike has 11,665 miles on it and it’s all original as far as I can tell. The bikes shifts through the gears perfectly and runs good. It could probably use a good tune-up before riding it extensively. The starter engages fine and does work but kicks out from time to time, probably the brushes need replaced. Overall, this is a gorgeous little motorcycle with a few scratches here and there as shown in the photo’s. There are no dents in the tank or elsewhere and no rust that I can see anywhere. This bike is at my brother’s place in Dandridge, Tennessee in dry storage where it will need to be picked up. If you have any questions about this, please call me.
