Vehicle Detail

this is a 1968 ford mustang convertible, it has a 289, 2-barrel engine, which runs fine, it has a rebuilt factory correct automatic transmission.it has factory power steering, it comes with the original floor console, it has 4 original ford, factory chrome rims, that are 14 inch. it has headers on it, but needs a full exhaust system. car is solid, but needs some welding at the front torque box area. it was original meadowlark yellow, but has been repainted in blue, which is not correct. it needs a lower cowl put in it, which is just removing and replacing the front windshield, and drilling out the welds and replacing the cowl area. it has the lower quarters replaced about 15-20 yrs ago, they were pop-rivited in and probably need redone to be up to todays restoration standards. car has been in storage last 15 yrs or so. it has a replacement engine from the early 70's, which is a 289 2-barrel like what it came with.. the front inner fenders have been replaced, and it has a new gas line and fuel tank, the emergency brakes are also replaced and work perfectly. it needs a new convertible top, it was replaced yrs ago, and has since dry-rotted, just sitting around. overall it is a solid car which i have driven around the yard and up and down the road. it is still set up with points and condenser. the front fenders are like brand new, dont know if they are original ford, but when car was redone, yrs ago, they were not reproducing them. there is a dent in the trunk lid, which is not that bad, but will need straightened out before it gets repainted. it has 4 original ford steel rims, which have been chromed, this i think was for a parade that ford put on in new jersey in 1968. the car was made in metuchen, new jersey. and i think it was chosen for the parade but i never done the research on it to be sure. it also needs the weatherstrip replaced since it is all original. i have put in the original type spark plug wires, and battery terminal wires. i was fixing it up for my son and he shows no interest, so figured i'd sell it to someone who would care for it like it deserves, since most of them are long gone. buyer will be responsible for shipping, since i don't know if you'd like to pick-it-up or have it delivered, it runs and won't be a problem to load. it needs the upholstery redone and some interior detailing to make it show-worthy but overall except for the paint and the light welding, it is in roadworthy condition, except it has not been inspected for at least 15 yrs. one of my friends had it and needed money so he sold it to me, i just need to get it out of the way in my shop, or i'd keep it...any questions call chris at 814-418-1013. have over 40 pics if you need to see them.
