Vehicle Detail

I purchased this great truck from a local estate with plans to complete the bed and the finishing touches it needs to be a show truck or business showpiece. Seems like nearly every winery, farmstand and pumpkin patch in our area has one of these either as a working truck or static showpiece on the property. Rather than building a flatbed from the oak boards which came with the truck, I decided to hold off so the new owner could either do so themself or put some other bed/body over the 10 foot bed rails (35 inches measured on center - 38 inches measured outside to outside). Truck appears to be the 157 inch wheelbase edition. A couple photos show the oak boards spread across the bed rails to give an indication of what the next owner might wish to do for a bed. To be clear, there is no bed on the truck now, but the oak boards come with the truck. Also has two extra rims which come with the truck. Installed new NAPA battery last month. Was told by the prior owner that the 85 horsepower flathead V8 was restored about 5 years ago. After recently getting the gas tank and fuel system flushed, the carburator rebuilt, new spark plugs installed and fuel filter replaced its running great and any interested buyers are encouraged to come by and see for yourself - it goes up and down the road very nicely. Also replaced the water pump to eliminate any risk that the very minor seal leak it had was going to create problems for me or the future owner. As you'll see in the pictures, it has an Eaton 2 speed rear end - however, the truck is currently set up to only run in one of the two ranges. Further, the parking brake controller you'll see in the cab photos isn't currently connected to the rear brakes - though the parts are all there - it just needs to be connected. The headlights are not currently connected, though they are in great shape. I'm not electrically inclined so I've not tried to hook them up. One very minor change from the photos is that the gas tank now has a flexible rubber filler neck, rather than the short stub in the photos...that way, it can more easily receive a truck bed. Happy to answer any questions about the vehicle, though I'm not an expert on these older, commercial grade trucks.
