Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a beautifully restored and practically unblemished 1976 BMW R90/6. I have set a low reserve on this bike compared to what has been invested and will sell it to the highest bidder once reserve is met here on ebay! I have over $8000 in receipts of the work that has gone into this machine. I have sold many motorcycles under my wife's ebay account, irishlass_65. Check our feedback there and bid with confidence! This bike is mechanically flawless! As new!!! Frame is absolutely straight, no warpage, welding, or frame repair of any kind. Any previous damage was cosmetic only. The bike was professionally repainted with BMW Granada Red PPG paint. Even the pinstripe is hand-painted!! I purchased this bike from a nuerosurgeon who kept it meticulously maintained and rode it every chance he got! He had a local guy that restores and paints vintage bikes here in Pittsburgh tear it down to the bare frame and restore/rebuild anything that looked remotely worn. The bike shows 69,448 miles on it but everything is like new! This bike has been lovingly restored to as new quality, was always garaged and maintained through the winter in a not-less-than 50 degree garage area with a concrete floor. The previous owner also rode it on a 1000 mile trip two summers ago and said it ran like a Swiss watch. The bike runs and rides perfect, has no leakage anywhere. A bunch of other work was done all of which I have receipts for. It has recent Pa inspection and I have the title which states the vehicle is "reconstructed". There is no evidence of any injury or instability to this bike in any way, form or fashion! It has been inspected by motorcycle experts and given a safe thumbs-up as noted by the active rigid Pennsylvania Motorcycle Inspection Standards. The bike was torn down to the frame and inspected carefully. No evidence of any integral/structural issues were found. I have no concerns about the safety or integrity of this motorcycle! This bike was ridden by it's previous owner for over 2000 miles with no hint of any integral problems or safety issues. Here's a video of this bike taken on 1/29/12: with the good doctor on-board! He rode this bike to work , in heavy Pittsburgh traffic, every day that the weather was good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEOkizI2JxA&feature=youtu.be Looking through some of the receipts: Entire bike torn down to the bare frame, engine removed, anything that looked worn/broken replaced Spring of 2010. New windscreen (Aftermarket and easily removable in two (2) minutes via quick-attach system) New battery Rebuilt starter & Solenoid Carburetors professionally rebuilt New clutch & pressure plate Spark plug cables Electronic ignition (No worries ever!) New tires, spokes, rims, professionally balanced Steering bearing replaced Brakes adjusted, didn't need replacing Front fork seals rebuilt. Replaced throttle assembly and all electrical switches Rebuilt speedometer/tachometer New BMW seat and chrome luggage racks. The original BMW tool bag is still in place under the seat. All shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer! If you are an International bidder, I will NOT touch this bike in preparation for overseas shipping; that is your responsibility to have completed! I will help load the bike at my home, that’s it! I accept paypal! A direct deposit of $200 must be placed into my paypal account within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the remaining balance must be paid within 72 hours of the close of the auction. If you are the winning bidder, you MUST contact me directly for payment arrangements! Remember, your winning bid is a contract to buy. I am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any and all questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. I will not sugarcoat anything for the sake of a few extra dollars. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the bike and test drive it prior to bidding. Although this bike is sold "As Is" and "Without Warranty", I want you to be happy and I will do anything within reason to me to see that you are. Thank you and good luck! I do reserve the right to end this auction early as the bike is for sale locally as well! This is a SERIOUS bike for SERIOUS bidders ONLY! If you have any questions, please ask them now before you bid or buy! Good Luck! Phil 724-866-2571
