1959 BMW R-Series

Up for Auction is a Running Condition 1959 BMW r60 that is all original numbers matching. The bike is not pristine but is in great condition for being 50+ years old. It has been operational all its life never put away for a long period of time other than for the winter, not a barn find. It has had the Coils replaced, new rear tire, and the Carbs have been rebuilt recently also had a ring job by a professional vintage cycle mechanic in the last two years. Bike had always started fairly easy but after the carb job it is astounding how fast it starts. The rear shocks are a little spongy but not horrible. This bike has the Bags and Fairing from BMW with it although the fairing isn't on the bike at the moment. The bike was owned by the original owner until recently and he rode it into his 80's but had to switch bikes because he couldn't get his leg over the bike anymore. So now he rides a Honda scooter. It has some sweet history behind it. The old man would cruise this bike all over the country including rides to Sturgis. Bike has plenty of life and is an ideal candidate for a full restoration or ride as is if you are into original patina. I can ship bike world wide but would like a heads up from buyer before hand.
