63 convertible with that old school romping stomping character. This is a highly desired classic. I will try to provide more than the two sentence description often seen in these auctions. Mileage of 29000 is obvously questionable but that is what the ODO shows. Yea I know. VIN breakdown: 3G65X1336413 = 1963G = Chicago65 = 2 dr convertibleX = 352133641 = production number with 1st number (1) = 3 spd manual NOW 4 SPEEDIt is an Oklahoma car that was restored and sold by a Texas classic car dealer. Delivered here to Jax. The new owner stripped all the trim and had the car repainted a base/clear coat deep metallic blue. Then the car sat outside, not driven for 9 years (?). Then I bought it and will refresh if not sold. I did put all the trim back on so it can be verified as complete in the pictures. There is now some rust in the rocker panels and lower panels from sitting. I am providing new replacement rocker panels (see pic). Everything north of the very lower panels is in surprisingly good shape. The undercarriage has sparodic surface rust but is solid. The 352 engine runs good No ticking, smoking or leaks (incredible for an FE engine). Cranks right up with the Pertronix electronic ignition and idles like it has an aggressive cam. Someone painted it red but it is the 352 X code engine. The 4 speed works as designed but the clutch does engage high on the pedal. Rear axle is a 3:50 with no problems. Dual exhaust installation with flowmasters in superb condition. Brakes good. Tires like new. The floor boards are mostly intact except for rust thru at the gas pedal heel position.May get away with just a patch as the floor pans seem fairly solid. Obviously the shifter location needs a rubber boot. The carpet is totally wasted. The seats, dash, and door panels are good. I can't find the headliner, Oh thats right, this is a convertible (ha ha). The convertible top is good shape and the motor works. Glass is not bad with one small rock chip in the windshield that has been treated and filled in. All chrome and stainless is presentable, not show but presentable. Bumpers intact and shiny with some fine spider lines, not rusted. Trim is complete and on the car now. (Current pics now represent this). Speaking of pics, I see the emergency cable is disconnected with some weeds still clinging from the 9 year sit.. I will also provide (8) Autolite spark plugs, air cleaner gasket, oil drain plug gasket, Wix oil filter (51515), and Wix fuel filter (33271). I may install some or all before pickup. In the trunk is a spare dash (radio & switches), speedometer housing, steering column and misc stuff. All extra and not needed. Also included is a nice set of Galaxie wire spoke wheel covers. OK let me sweeten the pot some more. I will throw in a new replacement starter (thought I needed but it was only a ground problem), new radiator hoses, all the battery/starter/battery/ground cables (new), new belts, and some extra various gaskets. Recent replaced on the car now are tires and the Flowmaster dual exhaust. Lights, brake lights and turn signal working. Not horn, radio and windshield wipers, which all need hooking up. But understand this car starts, drives, and stops pretty darn good. Not a junkyard ornament. But I know someone will ask if it will make it to California. Might, but personally I would have it trailered. Parts are hard to find on the road if needed. Clear Florida title in my name on hand. Let me remind you that if you are looking for a trailer queen at this price, wake up and smell the exhaust!Will take some lower body work, some rubber replacement, and whatever you want to do.
