Vehicle Detail

Please read full description before bidding. Thank you for looking. Please note the milage correction on my part. Feel free to call me with any questions before committing to buy this great Jeep. 760-814-0905 Sadly I am turning over my 1968 Jeep Commando C101 to someone that will drive it regularly as it LOVES to be on the road with no hesitation. . This commando is a 7 out of 10. Paint is great from 20 ft, not so great from 2 (home job from last owner). Electrical is working, driver’s side tail light is not, nor is the license plate light. Front head lights and blinkers work great as they are all new. There is a slow electrical drain somewhere so my guess is a new wiring harness will do the trick. The engine is STRONG , peppy, VERY reliable, and had a major tune not 200 miles ago, to include new head gasket, carb adjustment, plugs, wires, etc. It has a 4 bbl Holly carb on an Offenhauser intake. Yes a 4 bbl is excessive and I considered changing it back to the 2 bbl Rochester but it runs so darn good, why fix it if it isn’t broken. The bumpers need refinished and a stone guard needs to be fashioned or found. I just had the hubs replaced with better working newer Warns. There is no winch; no radio (does have speakers with holes cut by previous owner). Spare is in NEW condition. Hub caps are aftermarket to look like NOS. It will not take much to get this looking like a real looker again. Top is in fair condition after some boards fell on it while it was in storage (just the top not the jeep) Top is maroon. Its been two week since last start and its 30 degrees out and she fired right up. I ran her around the barn for a bit. I can take video of anything you want specific and upload it and send it via email. The top is off and you can see the full roll cage that isn't secured down. Had an incident with the Highlift and that's where that 2 inch scare on the front passenger side fender comes from. Rear tailgate has the usual rust on the bottom leading edge. She is REAL clean all the way around with newer Alcon springs and shocks. Needs two front tires probably but not much else. Like I said, the paint is left to be desired but that's where you come in to make her uniquely yours. The winch and bumper do NOT come with the Jeep as you see in some pictures. The bumper I have is from a JCAA member and its an original curved from a 1970 that is in great shape, just needs to be refinished. Also, There is no radio but does have aftermarket speakers and ports for 6x9s. The back seat does come with it and is blue. Original seatbelts too. Extra parts, and the lights seen in the initial pictures comes with it too. The exhaust is newer with NO leaks from the manifold to tailpipe. Doors and panels are newly covered and painted. The seats came from a 1970 Ford Bronco II. The steering wheel has one minor crack on it but perfect otherwise. Dash pad is perfect. There is an aftermarket (mid 70s) under the seat heater that works but needs to be wired along with the interior lights. The radiator has been pressure tested and the alternator has been tested as well. It has newer Alcon Springs all around with a STRONG frame. There is ONLY surface rust on areas exposed to the elements but NO cancer. The transmission shifts easily into its allotted spaces. There are NO leaks to speak of in or around its original 225 cubic inch Dauntless V6 or transfer case. Just for your info, I am selling because I am finishing up my masters degree and very well may be traveling for the next two years. This would leave my sweet Commando sitting to deteriorate and I just can’t stand to see it. I want to be clear that this sale does not come from frustration with my jeep of any sorts. It has been nothing but kind, responsive, willing and able. She has been ready to go when I come calling and delivers EVERY TIME. You will NOT be disappointed. She has always been garaged and kept clean. She is a work in progress but doesn’t have far to go. If you are looking for an already STRONG reliable runner, this is it. Thanks and GOOD LUCK!
