1987 Jeep Cherokee Chief. Top of the line back then, PW, PL, 4WD on the fly... Has a few issues and is a prime candidate for restoration. The good. Conservative 4 1/2" lift. All 4 springs, upper and lower control arms and no short cuts with the suspension. 32 11.50 15 Maxxis Buckshot tires with less than 5k miles on them. Used this size so we wouldn't have to cut the fenders for fit. 10" ultra aluminum wheels with securtity lug nuts. black interior pretty well worn, but the original headliner is still hanging tight. The bad. I had to put a tranny and transfer case from a 94 cherokee in it to get back and forth to work while we lived in TN. The electronics don't line up, so no spedometer and you have to shift through the gears manually. I have the stock tranny and transfer case in TN and your welcome to it if you buy the jeep but we'll have to make some arrangements for that to work. typical body and paint for a 25 year old that has never had any body work done. typical electrical gremlins consistant with a chrysler product of this age, connectors not connecting as well as they should. No brakes right now. there is sludge in the master cylinder. I don't know what it really needs for a fix, might just need to be flushed and new fluid or might need new parts. It runs great, just doesn't stop. The Jeep is worth more parted out than as a whole. I don't want to hassle with it and my wife is emotionally attached so it would be pretty hard on us to start stripping parts off. It has been solid and drove down here from TN (700 miles) last January with no issues. Please ask any questions and ask pictures of any part you want to see. Update 2/17/12 -- I took some time this morning to clean out the master cylinder and flush the brake lines. The brakes work fine now. It has been sitting since the beginning of last year and apparently something in the brake fluid broke down ( I don't know how old the fluid is, other than changing pads we never did anything to the brakes). It has been started regularly and the battery holds a charge, it just hasn't been out of the back yard. Thanks for looking.
