IM SELLING MY 1979 JEEP CJ5 TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO DO SOMETHING WITH IT. IVE HAD ALOT OF FUN WITH IT OVER THE YEARS BUT ITS BEEN GARAGED SINCE 1997 AND I NEED TO GET IT OUT SOON. THE GOOD...IT HAS PRETTY MUCH BRAND NEW 33 INCH UNIROYAL LAREDO MT TIRES THAT ARE MOUNTED ON NICE CHROME RIMS. THEY HAVE AROUND 500 MILES ON THEM AND I NEVER GOT STUCK ONCE WITH THEM.IT HAS A 4 INCH LIFT KIT IF I REMEMBER RIGHT.IT HAS A VERY STOUT CHEVY 327 THAT HAS BEEN BORED OUT AND HAD ENOUGH POWER TO SCARE THE HELL OUT OF ME MANY TIMES.IT HAS A VERY STRONG AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT CAME OUT OF A 3/4 TON PICKUP AND WAS REBUILT FOR PERFORMANCE AND USED IN A MUD RACING TRUCK. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE MOTOR AND TRANNY BEING TOO LONG AND CAUSING A SEVERE DRIVESHAFT ANGLE. IT WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO BE REMOVED AND HAVE A SHORTER JEEP TRANSMISSION PUT IN IT TO SOLVE THAT PROBLEM. IT IS A WELL BUILT TRANNY AND WOULD PROBABLY BRING SOME DECENT MONEY IF YOU WANTED TO SELL IT SEPERATE.IT HAS A 400.00 ADAPTER FROM ADVANCED ADAPTERS THAT WILL ALLOW THE JEEP TRANNY AND CHEVY ENGINE TO WORK TOGETHER THAT I WOULD INCLUDE WITH IT.IT HAS A CUSTOM FULL ROLL CAGE INSTALLED WITH THE FRONT LOOP GOING THROUGH THE FLOOR AND TIED INTO THE FRAME SO ITS VERY STRONG AND MUCH SAFER. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT THAT COST ME AROUND 500.00 TO HAVE BENT,WELDED, AND INSTALLED.IT HAS A NEWER SOFT TOP THAT WAS AROUND 400.00 BUT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CRACKED ON IT ON A COLD WINTER DAY.THE BAD....THE BODY IS PRETTY BAD...IT HAS ALOT OF BONDO IN IT. THE HOOD IS ABOUT THE ONLY PART OF THE BODY THAT IS PRETTY GOOD. I PLANNED ON PUTTING A FIBERGLASS BODY ON IT BUT NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT.THE ENGINE/TRANNY/DRIVESHAFT PROBLEM WOULD HAVE TO BE SOLVED. I HAD A MANUAL JEEP TRANSMISSION IN IT AT ONE TIME BUT DECIDED TO TRY THIS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN IT. I BELIEVE THE OLD JEEP TRANNY IS IN THE GARAGE SOMEWHERE BUT WOULD NEED SOME WORK...IT WAS JUMPING OUT OF GEAR WHEN IT WAS REMOVED.THE ENGINE WOULD PROBABLY NEED TO BE TAKEN APART AND HAVE NEW SEALS AND GASKETS DUE TO FACT THAT IT HAS BEEN IN THE GARAGE FOR AROUND 15 YEARS.ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE JUST SEND ME AN EMAIL AND ILL TRY TO ANSWER THEM FOR YOU. I HATE TO SEE IT GO BUT IT WOULD MAKE ME HAPPY TO SEE SOMEONE DO SOMETHING WITH IT. I WILL HAVE PICTURES POSTED SOON. IM LIVING IN COLORADO AND THE JEEP IS IN MY DADS GARAGE IN FARGO ND. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOMEONE DO SOME GOOD WITH IT. JUST FOUND THAT THERE IS A SPOT BACK BY THE REAR SHOCK MOUNT THAT IS RUSTED THROUGH A BIT.
