Listed as a true auction, starting bid at $1, with NO RESERVE! Nice, super classic 1972 Mercedes Benz 280 SE sedan. This is the desirable, powerful 4.5L engine. This has always been a California MBZ all its life. Three owners since sold new at the old Mercedes Benz dealership on Van Ness Avenue. It has 103K original miles. Completely stock, original powertrain. Original, untouched 4.5 V8 engine with the early injection. Rebuilt water pump, brake master and alternator two years ago. Starts right up and drives very well. No overheating, knocking or pinging. Always run on Premium with fuel additive. Full oil pressure at idle and on extended drives. The body is in surprisingly good condition for a forty-year-young classic Mercedes. It was refinished once about 10 yrs ago in factory bronze color, correct for the period. It was very overcast when the photos were taken; they do not do it justice! VERY NICE Mercedes Benz AMG type alloy wheels with low-profile tires. It really turns heads! The interior is very clean, with no rips or tears on the factory Mercedes Tex-Tan upholstery. Average wear on the seats as pictured. Original factory sunroof works and does NOT leak. Power windows and Alarm system. The car has a custom wlanut wood steering wheel, but if preferred I can re-install the original stock one. Currently registered thru 2012. SMOG EXEMPT and has a current California title. Unfortunately, it will show salvage as the insurance company had already paid us off after the original wheels and stereo were stolen about 10 yrs ago. It is being listed here with a very modest opening bid and NO RESERVE!. Please be advised, this Mercedes is being offered for sale in various other venues as well as locally, thus I reserve the right the end the auction early, at anytime, should an offer or a BUY-IT-NOW present itself, as some folks do not like to wait until the end of the auction.
