Vehicle Detail
1950 Ford F-1 Pickup. Fresh from south Georgia! Original drive train and largely unmolested. Factory options include spot light and front bumper anti-climber thingie. I'll list the new parts and provide a link to many more pictures. Send me a question if there is something specific you want me to photograph and post. ...or just ask a question! On Feb-15-12 at 17:34:51 PST, seller added the following information: This truck can be your instant RAT ROD! ...just add parts. Where do you think you can find someone to paint a truck that duplicates the patina on this truck's sheet metal? Nobody can duplicate what time has done to this truck with paint! This truck does not yet start and run. It turns over. The hand brake works. The condition of the brakes are otherwise unknown. You cannot drive it home. Don't even think about it. In Georgia, trucks of this vintage do not require a title. You will get a bill of sale. In Florida, you can show up at the tag office with the truck and the bill of sale, the tag office ladies will visually verify the VIN, charge you some bucks, issue you a title, and you'll get it in the mail when they get around to mailing it. I'd expect the same holds true in the state where you live. Here's a link to more pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/76724615@N02/sets/ I'm not done yet; there are more pictures to come! The previous owner kept the truck inside in his garage for at least the last three years. The previous owner says that the last time the truck ran was two or three years ago. The truck seemed to have a hodge-podge of 12-volt and 6-volt parts once we brought it home and started taking a close look. It's 6-volt; never been converted. We dropped in a 6-volt battery that is included with the truck. New parts that we've installed are all 6-volt. New parts include: rebuilt carburetor, starter solenoid, distributor cap, 8 spark plugs, rotor, plug wires, hose clamps, electric fuel pump, and fuel lines. ...and probably some other things. Apparently, the starter is tired. The truck turns over, but the starter does not have enough oomph to start the engine. I don't have another 6-volt car to jump it with to provide the amps the starter wants. Your next step: have the starter rebuilt. The previous owner kept the after-market wheels/tires that he had on the truck. What you get are what we think are the original 16-inch wheels with three or four after-market lug nuts per wheel. The previous owner also included in the sale a plastic radio delete panel and plastic radio speaker grille (that is still sealed in it's plastic bag). (There's no radio in the truck. ...or cassette player or CD player. Whaddya thinking?) I don't see another 1950 Ford F-1 with a factory spotlight and front bumper anti-climber. We threw away all the dry-rotted bias ply tube tires. Two of them were Republic 6.50 X 16 that a label we found in the truck says were installed September 14, 1979. They were dry-rotted and they're not included with the truck. (You can pick them up at the Tomoka Landfill in Volusia County if you really, really want them.) We installed four used tubeless tires that hold air; a.k.a. "rollers." The truck comes with three hubcaps (as pictured) and three trim rings (as also pictured). It seems that the valve stems for the tubeless tires prevent installing the trim rings. Aside from that, there's an extra 16-inch wheel in the bed of the truck. The trim rings don't seem to clip on to that one as you would expect either. So in the pictures, the trim rings are "posed" and not really installed properly. You get the three trim rings with the truck. A CD from Faxon Auto Literature is included with the truck that includes a couple of PDFs of 1950 Ford F-1 manuals. Now I'll go try to answer the fifteen (15) questions that we've received so far. If you've asked a question, please stand by for our reply.
